I used the formula above to get my data. The following data is from the database that I was given in order to select these people that I will use in my investigation.

Results

I will start by comparing the height against the weight by the age and gender as I want to see how the compare. And to give more conclusive results I will separate the age and the gender this would be to see if boys have generally taller and heavier than girls, you would also think that the older you are the heavier you are so the results from these will show this as well . For this data I will use a scatter diagram and draw onto them a line of best fit, see the correlation more easily.

Weight against height in the 2 years I am investigating

        

This graph also shows that there is a strong correlation between the height and weight of a person but it also shows that there is not a vast difference in the age of a girl to how tall, how much they weigh and how old they are as the 2 results on this graph are very close  

        

This graph shows that again there is a positive correlation between height and weight there is no difference in the weights and heights of the different ages the year 11 boys however do show some differences in weight and height the one obvious anomaly is that the data shows somebody as weighing 5kg which isn’t possible and I also think that the year 11 boy who is recorded as being 92 kg in weight might also not be right although it could be possible when looking at his height it is very doubtful because he is not overly tall

This graph shows that boys weigh more and are taller than girls. There are no obvious anomalies in this graph except for the girl that is quite short and does not weigh much but this could just be because she is generally short.

Conclusion  

I think my hypothesis was right because from the data that I gathered and then complied into a number of graphs I can see that, the taller you are the more you weigh this come with a few exceptions of people who are really tall but do not weigh much this could be because they are under weight. That there is not a huge difference between the ages of people to how much you weigh you can tell this from the graphs, they show that the heights and weights are mostly the same. And that boy’s are taller and weigh more than girls.

I think I did choose the right amount of data because I looks ok on the graphs I think that if I had chosen anymore the graph might have looked over done and it would have been hard to read, I also think that although it would have made the results more reliable it would have been to complex for what it is needed for if you were perhaps investigating something to do with IQ then more data should have been used.
