MAYFIELD HIGH SCHOOL STATISTICS PROJECT
INTRODUCTION TO THE PROJECT
This project concerns the area of mathematics called statistics. The project named Mayfield high school is a statistical project. For this investigation I have acquired data from the edexcel website, this data contains information on 1183 students and gives personnel attributes such as height and weight.
AIMS OF THE INVESTIGATION
The aim of my investigation is determine a relationship between the height and weight of the various pupils of the school. From analysing both the graphs and the data I will produce from this investigation, I hope to be able to estimate an accurate figure for a pupils height or weight by being given just one of these values.
SORTING THE DATA
To ease the workload of the project I have sorted the data using the sort function of Microsoft excel. This means the data for my project has now been arranged chronologically by order of year group from year 7 to 11. Then it has been sorted alphabetically by order of surname and then finally by gender. This has now left me with a final set of data which I can
