Connatations for Indiana Jones

The setting is next to a group of trees or undergrowth it is set at night which shows that he is in a dark place (place of evil) or is worrying about something.

Costume design and makeup:

Indiana Jones is wearing a leather jacket and shirt and smart trousers this shows that he is a rugged character but at the same time quite sophisticated he is wearing a leather hat which shows that he is most likely to be the hero of the story as the reason the hat was worn by cowboys was because at the time it showed that they were brave and heroic. He is wearing a stern look on his face which shows that he has been through hard times or is worrying about something his face looks like he is worried but even though he looks like he is in unfavourable territory he is still clean cut and not dirty showing that he is a heroic character.

Performance:

Indiana Jones has a stern and weathered look on his face this shows that he is in a place of evil or unfavourable circumstances this is to help the effect of the scenery etc and makes the whole picture look more believable.

Composition:

Indiana Jones is positioned in the centre of the picture which shows that he is the main character and powerful he is in a dark looking wood/field with undergrowth which shows he is in a place of uncertainty.

Special effects:

The special effect would be they have placed dust in the air behind him so that when the light shines on him it looks misty.

Cinematography:

In this scene he is being illuminated by a high key light which means that there is a big contrast between the dark areas and the light areas this is effective because it shows that he is in a place of darkness but shows that he is still light (good) and heroic striving to break the darkness.
