In our REM advert we had decided to play back a couple of REM's hit songs to remind people of their

Therefore the first thing we did was to get the REM music sorted and try to record lines along with it using our list. As group we decided what parts of the songs we wanted in the advert and in the end we had decided to put 2 clips from 1 REM song together. Being the main editor, I tried to put these to clips together as smoothly as possible so the audience would not notice that is 2 clips. It did not go as planned but it was smooth enough for people not to notice unless they listened closely. Therefore we had decided to put a voice over the top of it. The reason for choosing these to clips were because we thought some parts of it would sound good if we lowered the volume, spoke over it, and then raised the volume again. Doing this 3 times and gave us enough speaking time so now we just had to decided what to record for how long and where (script/dialogue).

Recording the voices took a lot more time than we had expected it to take, as we had to keep adjusting the sound levels for the voice to sound clear. A lot of the time the voice was recorded too low so we had to keep re-recording, however this did not come a surprise to us as the same problems occurred while making our jingles. Also another problem we found that kept coming up was the microphone not working when the lead was moved. When we had finished recording and played back the advert, we were impressed with the final results but then realised we had not included all the points that we initially decided and the voices did not sound as enthusiastic as we hoped. However we believed we put across enough information for the audience.

In our next advert the Suffolk Show, we constructed this like our REM advert editing just the music first making sure it lasts around 30 seconds and then recording sound along with it. With this advert we tried to keep the farm theme using Suffolk farmers accent and with country music. In my opinion this advert did not go as well as we planned. We expected it to be more fluent with more information being passed on across to the audience. We found it difficult to do this in the short space of time we had. However, having said this the advert overall is catchy and amusing to listen to therefore maybe making the audience remember it.
