A Look Inside of The Outsiders

“You guys are three of the bravest kids I’ve seen in a long time. What are you guys? Professional heroes or somethin’?” This one of the many great quotes from the film The Outsiders. The Outsiders is one of the best films made! The acting in this movie was brilliant, and the three main heroes of this story are Ponyboy played by Thomas Howell, Johnny played by Ralph Macchio, and Dally played by Matt Dillon.

        Ponyboy’s role in The Outsiders was great and the film portrayed his character very well. For example, in the fountain scene, his emotions and body language expressed a lot of worry, and it was very believable. Thomas Howell also did very well in the scene where Darry hits Pony, and he runs away. This scene was especially realistic, again because of his body language and emotions. Overall, the producers did pretty well in representing Ponyboy’s character; however, they did even better at Johnny’s character.

        Johnny’s character was depicted very well. One of the best scenes he did was the fountain scene. In this scene, his body language and tone of voice were very convincing. Aside from the fountain scene, Ralph Macchio also did excellent in the scene that he dies in. In this scene, he had remarkable body language and displayed his emotions well. The best part of the scene was when he told Ponyboy to stay gold; that part was the most convincing, since it looked like he was actually dying and because of the way he said it.
