There are no good grounds for murder, one of the Ten Commandments says, "Do not commit murder." There is great controversy over abortion when it concerns the life of the pregnant mother. It is fundamentally wrong to put the life of the foetus above the things that have been there to allow it to survive just because it will not be dependent upon them after the time of birth. This argument seems to be overwhelming and is, in my opinion, a justification for a Christian to have an abortion on the grounds that her health or her life would be seriously threatened by continuing the pregnancy for the full term. ...read more.

Conclusion

Another circumstance, in which some people attempt to justify abortion, is the situation of a rape or incest victim. Although Christians would say there could be other options for a woman placed in this situation. She could decide to give the child up for adoption. Most important of all, as a result of abortion the sanctity of life has been devalued. We should have a sense of value and accountability for our actions as well as an absolute respect for the life, which is evident within us, no matter what the circumstances may be. We must remember that no one has the right to decide the exact time that a foetus becomes a human being. And it is for God to decide when a human being shall no longer live.     Sometimes a problem will arise at any point in the pregnancy where the embryo is seriously handicapped. I don't think that it is right for the woman to be denied an abortion especially if there was a danger that if the baby was born alive it would be under immense suffering and there was a possibility of an early death.
