The first Passover took place before Moses led the people out of Egypt to Israel. God spoke to Moses and Aaron he told them that on the 10th day of the month each man must choose r a lamb for his household, on the evening of the 14th day of the month they were to kill their animals, then they would smear it onto their doorposts and eat the whole lamb that night.

That night god sent out his angel of death, any house that’s doorposts weren’t smeared with blood god would go in and kill the first born male. He freed God’s people and led them into the desert.

Jesus ate the Passover with his disciples. He sent two to a house where they would find everything they needed for the Passover meal. While they were eating their Passover meal Jesus said

“I tell you that one of you will betray me- one who is eating with me” (Mark 14:18) all the disciples were upset and said,

“Surely you don’t mean me, do you?” then Jesus said that it would be the one that dips their bread in the dish with him and it would have been better if that person had never been born.

Then Jesus took the bread he blessed it and then broke it, he gave it to his disciples and said take it, this is my body. He then took a cup blessed it and gave it to his disciples and said this is my blood which seals god’s covenant.

I can see a connection between Passover and Holy Communion being that Jesus was our sacrifice because when Jesus died all our sins were forgiven, just as the lamb was sacrificed for the Israelites. The Passover freed the People of God from Slavery. The modern Jewish Passover makes this act of God for today's Jews. During his life Jesus celebrated the Passover. At the Last Supper he gave a new meaning to it. He became the new Lamb of God, whose blood would set people free from sin. The Mass celebrates Christ's victory over in and evil and his resurrection form the dead. Jews see that there covenant with god was sealed by the lamb’s blood when the angel of death didn’t kill their first born, where as Christians see their convent with god was sealed when Jesus died on the cross.

The Pulpit is where the bible is read from. This shows us Methodists believe in the word of god and it is the most important part of their services. The liturgy is usually 30-40 minutes long. Methodist preachers choose their readings. They may choose their readings to help people who come to church in their everyday lives. They may also reflect on issues that may involve everybody. The recent news stories for example. Baptism, the same in a Catholic church, is very important to Methodists they believe Baptism is used to bring people into the family of god. Unlike ...
