Explain how Christians might put their beliefs about abortion into action:

Pro life Christians are against abortion, and so they might:

• Join a non-religious pro-life organisation, for example LIFE, or SPUC.
• They may campaign for the law to be changed by writing to their MP.
• They may pray for mothers to change their minds about a termination.
• They may encourage and counsel women to choose adoption rather than abortion.
• Or, they may set up schemes to eliminate some of the reasons for a termination, for example the Catholic Church in Scotland offer Financial help and support to pregnant women who need it.

Moderate Pro life/Pro choice Christians may do any of the following:

• Campaign for the current abortion law to be amended still further, because scientific research has found that at 24 weeks, premature babies are surviving.
• Campaign for abortion to remain legal to stop rises in ‘back-street’ abortions.
• Pray with mothers for God to give them guidance in making their decision, whatever they might decide.
• Support families, for example the Mother’s Union run crèches to remove the need for abortion.
