Explain how Jesus is a role model for Christian life

Firstly Jesus' message and teachings are essentially the very foundation of Christian beliefs. The focus of Christianity is Jesus' message that all were welcomed in the Reign of God and that he was sent as a messenger to teach God's ways to others. His teachings were based on the scriptures however they were explained in practical ways, to have more meaning to the people. Jesus life and resurrection and major beliefs in Christianity. The Paschal Mystery refers to the belief in the resurrection of Jesus himself and the Kingdom of God. Therefore Jesus is the basis of this major belief in Christianity. Various themes established through Jesus teachings are also found in Christian beliefs and themes of love, forgiveness, compassion/mercy and charity are all expressed in the bible which recount jesus' teachings . An example of this is found in Mathew 26:28 "this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" which clearly demonstrates the portrayal of the theme of forgiveness in the christian teachings. Other examples are Mk 5:44 - “love your enemies…” and Lev 19:18 - “You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord”. These extracts encapsulate what jesus was about, and who he was as a person. Portraying how jesus was a role model for christian life.
