The images reflected of jesus in the gospels and the writings of Paul provide the model for the beliefs, rituals and behaviours for the whole life and journey of the Christians. An example of this is found in Mathew 26:28 "this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" which clearly demonstrates the portrayal of the theme of forgiveness in the christian teachings. Other examples are Mk 5:44 - ?love your enemies?? and Lev 19:18 - ?You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord?.
