Faced with the issues of Abortion and Euthanasia, explain how a Christian would respond.

Abortion and euthanasia are two of the most decisive topics faced by the world today, people hold different views about them some are in favour, whilst some are against.

A definition of abortion is the extraction of the baby from the mother’s womb before the 24th week of pregnancy. Different views are shared about abortion but mostly all sects of Christianity are against abortion.  But there are groups e.g. humanitarian groups, which are in favour of the concept of abortion.

The Catholic Truth Society strongly oppose to the concept of abortion.  There reason is “We have been created by the almighty God in his own likeness and image.  No pregnancy is unplanned because no baby can be conceived, unless almighty God intends that conception” This basically means that before we are conceived our lives are planned out for us.  Even before our parents know what gender we are God knows, for it is Gods will for us to be born.   The Catholic Church also believes that the conception of a baby is due to the will of God and a human being has no right to kill that baby.  It is morally wrong.

Life campaign activists also disagree with the concept of abortion.  They disagree with it because they believe life begins at conception.  They believe that whether or not the human being is not wanted or handicapped the destruction of the unborn life is always wrong and it should never be carried out.

Although a lot of people disagree with the concept of abortion there are also groups of people who do agree.

The groups who are mainly ‘pro’ abortion are humanitarian groups.  They have their own point of view.  They believe that abortion is better than bringing an unwanted ...
