The above statement one could argue that the statement above is wrong and one could also say that it is true. There ways in which it agrees and disagrees with the statement above regarding Luke’s Gospel.
One could put forward the argument that it is the same is in the fact that even though Luke’s Gospel contains 1150 verses (100%), 350 verses (17%) of it is identical to Mark’s Gospel and 200 verses (17%) is similar to Matthew. Luke’s Gospel covers most of the same stories as the other two Gospels except for the fact it leaves or adds in other stories that the other two have not mentioned. For example in Luke it does not mention about the Three Wise Men and the star that led them to the stable where Jesus is born, but Matthew does. In Luke it mentions the parables of the lost coin and sheep, but in the other Gospels there is no mention of the parables. But a verse that they both contain is the death and resurrection of Jesus.
