" Television always represents religious people as out of touch with the modern world."
On one hand I agree with this statement because a few programmes that are on television today are only aimed at relatively small audiences. They don't cater for a very wide range of people like most modern TV shows do.
A couple of examples of this are 'Songs of Praise' and 'My Favourite Hymns'. Both programmes are heavily based on hymns and do not cater for the needs and interests of the younger generation. Both programmes were first made many years ago and haven't changed with the times. They are both for the very small audience who want to go church but who can't actually make it. This is why they are both around the time people would be going to church (on a Sunday in the morning or evening). In general today fewer people go to church than did when these programmes were first created.
