Atheists however cannot accept this belief of God because firstly people tend to believe in the science perspective which says the world and everything in it come about with a big bang and everything just happened to fall into place. The scientific perspective concludes that there is no creator.
Secondly people believe that for something to be created we need a creator and that creator needs a creator and this goes on and on resulting to the people believing that there is no god for even god has to have a father.
To help people understand the concept of a creator, William Paley came up with the teleological theory also known as the design argument. To sum up the argument he says that if you and your friend were walking in the countryside and came upon a watch of the most excellent design and if I were to say it came out of thin air then surely you would reject this idea. Like a watch needs a watchmaker despite its complexity then how can the universe come about by accident even though it is more complex than a watch. So therefore it is a creator who made the world. A creator who can not be created again because he must be ultimate.
The Kalam cosmological argument was originally created by Muslim scholars who did not develop the idea further but was then taken by an English professor Rene Descott who then developed the idea. This idea supports the belief of the Muslims as well. It is also known as the causation argument. Its main point is that every thing has a cause besides god who is the on-caused cause.
Many people have different ways in which they approach the belief in one god. Monotheists would approach this idea in a very positive way since this supports their main fundamental belief that god is one. They would accept it from their point of view however from the Islamic concept may not approve. For example we as Muslims do not approve of the Trinity or Trimurti because despite those religions believing in one god they break god up into 3 different types where this is not acceptable to Muslims as god is only one and can have all these qualities but cannot be broken up into different categories of god.
A superior example of this is Hinduism. Most people would say this is a polytheistic faith when in fact when talking to Hindu’s one discovers that in fact they have one ultimate god; Brahman. Under him are three other deities; Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer. Under these gods there are more gods. Each god or form of god is different and individuals feel closer to their form of goes as it may reflect them as a person. None of these things can be accepted by Muslims as these results to shirk as said in the Qur’an:
“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who
were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious), Who
has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy,
and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith
fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah
(in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be
worshipped.)”
(Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow): 22).
Polytheist would approach this idea in a very negative way because it does not coerce with their beliefs. An example of the main type of polytheistic faith would be Buddhism. As they believe in various different Buddha’s. It would totally go against Muslim beliefs as categorising as shirk and again we have proof that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said:
“Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah”
(Narrated by Ali ibn Tailb, recorded in Sahih Muslim 921, Musand Ahmed, Sunan Nasai, Saheeh al Jaami 5112)
In conclusion I believe in god’s existence since I do not need to explain very much since the hadiths and the Qur’an ayah above explains it all. Basically Allah exists because firstly there can be no creator, secondly the world cannot come through a big bang, and many other ideas can be argued but I don’t want to go into detail since it has already been explained above.
