Chemistry is about everything you've ever touched, eaten, drunk or breathed; every gas, liquid and solid in the universe. It gives you the opportunity to understand the chemical properties of the building blocks of life and the universe.
Amongst other things you'll be studying the periodic table, reactions, carbon compounds, atoms and bonding. You'll understand why certain substances react with each other and why some don't; what happens when they do and why this can be useful, or even dangerous. There are many laws in Chemistry and once you become comfortable with them you'll be able to start applying them and then the whole chemical landscape stretches out before you. It can be quite a moment. There are some calculations and you'll need to work out at times.
Assessment is a mixture of controlled assessment and end of course exams.
