St. Vincent de Paul is a voluntary Christian society; the society uses teachings from the gospel and catholic social values – attempting to live following god’s guide – ‘ to love God and to love thy neighbour.’ S.V.P works with poor and disadvantaged people and works of charity are not alien to the society and are involved in a wide range of activities to aid and support those in need.

        The society operates a strategy of support and friendship, promotes self-sufficiency and works for social justice.

        Firstly SVP is the largest provider of accommodation for homeless people in Ireland. The hostels provide a range of accommodation to meet both the long-term and short-term needs of homeless men and women. These hostels provide facilities to help/aid people to enter society i.e. education, employment, skill training and personal development.
