“If you don’t believe in God, there is no point getting married.”
If I wanted to get married to someone but neither of us believed in God and then someone told us that there is no point getting married because we don’t believe in God, I would obviously not love the person very much. If I had just accepted that and told the person I was engaged to that the wedding is off, then I wouldn’t care about them very much in the first place if I didn’t even think about what the person had told me properly. If you love someone and they ask you to marry them, could you not believing in God really destroy your marriage? Marriage is about love and promising to stay with that person for the rest of your life. The fact that someone doesn’t believe in God can’t force you into thinking that it isn’t right to get married.
