Favorite character It is too difficult to say who my favorite literary character is. I have read many books in my life and it seems to me that most of the characters were good, beautiful and brave. I prefer books about friendship, love and happiness in life. She had a very sad childhood because she had to work hard. The young girl worked as a baby-sitter, at first at Mrs Thomas', then at the Hammonds'. Then she lived in an orphanage. Next she was adopted by Mary and Mat Cuthbert. Anne loved Mary and Mat very much for their big hearts. And she loved Diana because her friend was a very good and smart girl. Conclusion

No wonder that this book and adventures of its heroine became a hit. Forced by demands of the readers and her publisher, Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote another eight books which finally ended when Anne's children grow up. Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote "Anne of Green Gables" in 1908, so two years ago it was the book's ninetieth anniversary. In "Anne of Green Gables" the world is curious and beautiful. It's like magic.
