From July 11th 2005 until July 22nd 2005.
My work experience was a two week course (10 days), with shifts of Monday – Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm.
During that time I had to follow extremely strict rules and guidelines. These were for the safety of my colleagues, customers and me. When I found out about this it came useful when we had a false alarm on my second day, to which I was able to confidently follow the safety procedure. From this I learnt a key skill, ‘to listen to ALL safety information’ which I did and achieved the safety of others, and myself.
Other key skills I learnt were to: Listen to Others, Communicate with Others, To Work as Part of a Team and To Always Follow Rules and Guidelines. If these skills were neglected, society will fall apart. No-one will be polite and courteous to each other; everyone will be lost in himself or herself.
In all I enjoyed my work experience, I also gained future knowledge of how demanding work can be, what an employer expects of an employee and what an employee expects of their employer. To listen, communicate and work with others and never to disobey Health and Safety Rules and Regulations
Therefore, I have concluded that my work experience was more than I could have hoped for, in which I have learnt from the company and made an impression to my colleagues, have become a teammate to them, and have strong friendships with most of the colleagues I worked closely with. I have also concluded that my work experience was in fact a success and more helpful to me.
