  1. Definition of shares and Market shares.
  • Shares:

Thus, a share is an indivisible unit of capital, expressing the proprietary relationship between the company and the shareholder. The denominated value of a share is its face value: the total capital of a company is divided into a number of shares.

Shares are valued according to various principles in different , but a basic premise is that a share is worth the price at which a transaction would be likely to occur were the shares to be sold. Market share is a key indicator of market competitiveness. That is how well a firm is doing against its competitors. This metric, supplemented by changes in sales revenue, helps managers evaluate both primary and selective demand in their market. That is, it enables them to judge not only total market growth or decline but also trends in customers’ selections among competitors. Generally, sales growth resulting from primary demand (total market growth) is less costly and more profitable than that achieved by capturing share from competitors. Conversely, losses in market share can signal serious long-term problems that require strategic adjustments. Firms with market shares below a certain level may not be viable. Similarly, within a firm’s product line, market share trends for individual products are considered early indicators of future opportunities or problems.

  1. What is shares portfolio?

Shares portfolio is a collection of various company shares, fixed interest securities or money-market instruments.

A good shares portfolio is the optimal portfolio in terms of number and type of securities. It means the list with the highest expected profit. Investors should study the different types of securities, compared to expected profits and select the type of security with the highest expected profit. This depends on the investor's discretion that requires investors to always brainstorming, thinking ability, the will and the skill to analyze and make decisions.
