ABSTRACT
The contemporary approach for any company to get competitive and strategic advantage is to initiate TQM approaches for Quality improvement. But due to several criticisms, many companies view that TQM approaches are expensive and often unsuccessful. They view that it is difficult to embrace TQM as because it needs an overall change in the organizational culture. Moreover, TQM approaches require a set of guidelines that must be conformed to achieve the goals. Eventually, the problem that lies is to maintain the philosophies of TQM since there are many contradictions between different philosophers. In this regard, three TQM “Gurus” are renowned for their philosophies and gained interests among companies. They are – W. Edwards Deming, Joseph M. Juran and Philip B. Crosby. A discussion on their philosophical similarities and dissimilarities are as follows:
