Appendix 1. Earning Clubcard points
Clubcard points can be earned by:
- Making purchased in Tesco stores, including purchases at petrol stations, and coffee shops. One Clubcard point is earned for every pound spent.
- Making purchases online at tesco.com
- Using a Tesco credit card – 50 per cent more points can be earned by shopping in Tesco with Tesco credit card, and extra Clubcard points are earned whenever the credit card is used for purchases. Tesco personal finance is a joint venture between Tesco plc, and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc.
- By shopping with each of the following companies: Beefeater, Dollond & Aitchison, Allders, Travelcare, Johnsons, Nationwide Autocentre, Marriott, and National Tyres and Autocars.
- The Nutri Centre – products can be ordered by telephone or online.
- Recycling mobile phones.
Every three months customers are sent a Clubcard statement. If they have earned over 150 points, they receive Clubcard vouchers, together with a copy of the magazine. Every 150 points is worth £1.50 in vouchers. In addition to vouchers, members are sent coupons for items that the database suggests that they have purchased recently.
Appendix 2. Clubcard Deals
Using Clubcard Deals doubles the value of Clubcard vouchers when they are exchanged or Deal tokens. Premier Clubcard customers get four times the value of their Clubcard vouchers when they are exchanged for Deals tokens, To qualify as a premium Clubcard customer, customers need to spend an average of £60 per week over a quarterly Clubcard collection period, in Tesco stores, using their Clubcard.
