The aim of the SWOT analysis is to try to give the firm a better understanding on where it stands in the market place in relation to other competing firms. As well as how it can exploit opportunities that are available.

        Pantane Pro-V, one of the world’s leading hair care products, it delivers over £1 billion a year (Sales) to its parent company, Procter & Gamble
. Pantane Pro-V is targeted at women 18-49, and is positioned as the product/brand that makes hair so healthy it shines.

        Chief competitors in the global Shampoo arena include: Clairol Herbal Essences, Pert Plus, Head & Shoulders, and Suave. Conditioner competitors include: Clairol Herbal Essences, Infusion 23 and Suave, along with many supermarket brands.

        The current market in the U.K. and U.S.’s is saturated. While it may be possible to achieve some market growth, substantial growth is more likely in the international arena, such as Israel.
