Because of this, you take out food or prepare easy-to-cook processed food. Now, this Is very unhealthy. Your kids won’t get any nutrients from these.

NUTRITIONIST: It might taste good but a lot of those take out and processed foods contain sodium. When you regularly serve this to your children, the high sodium intake can cause micronutrient poisoning which can lead major health problems for you and your family.

NARRATOR: Do your children eat vegetables? Or do they give you a hard time when
you serve them vegetables?
NUTRITIONIST: Well, a lot of children don’t find vegetables and fruits appealing. They
refuse to eat them because they don’t find it delicious. Most children these
days would rather eat fried chicken or hot dog rather than eat a bowl of salad. Now, let’s 18 say that your child loves to eat. Many may say that their child is healthy because they
eat a lot. But when you consume too much food, there will be excess nutrients in your
body. Unfortunately, the body can no longer absorb these nutrients. Eating a lot of preserved foods and eating fewer vegetables is the leading cause of over nutrition.
NARRATOR: There are a lot of diseases that one may get from being malnourished. The most common diseases are: diabetes, indigestion, peptic ulcer, iron deficiency anemia, high cholesterol, coronary heart disease, over fatigue, and obesity.

NUTRITIONIST: It’s not a good idea to drastically change your diet right at this moment. However, slowly changing your eating habits will greatly show positive changes to you and your family’s health. Let’s start with fruits and vegetables. Children may not want to eat it because it doesn’t appeal to them. However, serving brightly coloured vegetables may change that.
Why not add a fruit salad to their meal? Vegetables and fruits contain important vitamins 12 and minerals that everyone needs. You can assure that your children will get the
nutrients they need by adding fresh fruit juice instead of powdered juices. No
preservatives and added sugars.

NUTRITIONIST: It is a good idea to let your children know that the healthy food that they need is just around the corner. Kids often snack when they are at home, so why not
stock up on healthier snack options such whole, fortified and fibre-rich foods? High fibre foods can help in clearing cholesterol from your systems and can also reduce the risk of having cardiovascular diseases. How about some yogurt or fruits instead of the typical chips and other junk food? By eating yogurt and fruits, you and your family will be able to get the vitamins and minerals that you need every day.

NUTRITIONIST: You must set a good example for your kids. When your kids see you
eating healthy foods, they will also be more willing to to eat healthy
foods. Your kids will be more conscious in choosing nutritious food when they see you
