A. Objectives
The distances between the given points on the site are measured. The offset lines of the nominated points are found. From the data, the area of an irregular shape of the site is calculated by different methods.
B. Equipments
Tape
It is made of plastic with green protective coating. It is used to measure a relatively long distance in linear measurement.
Ranging rod
It is a 2 m rod. It has a pointed end to push into the ground. It is used to fix a point on ground for measuring distance.
5 m measuring tape
It is made of steel with a protective coating. It is used to measure a relatively short distance in linear measurement.
Bubble
It is a small container with a bubble inside the liquid. It is fixed fix on the ranging rod in this case and is used to ensure that the rod is perpendicular to the ground.
