Argue against the sale of firearms in America It is appalling that the sale of in America is authorized by the government

The excuse that a gun is only bought for protection is a scapegoat of the truth, which is to inflict damage on someone, but has it been considered what would happen if a gun was to fall in the hands of someone mentally unstable in the mind, what would be the reason for purchasing the gun, I hardly believe that it would be to put in a draw, and used to protect in case of an emergency. I believe that a person unstable in the mind would have the intention of murdering or hurting someone with the gun. It is a fact that a half of gun related murders in America are caused by people classified as unstable in the mind. This therefore indicates that a gun can fall into the wrong hands very easily and can be used irresponsibly, henceforth showing how it is a more sensible idea to abolish guns entirely, because it is not possible to stop a firearm falling into the hands of the wrong person.

The sale of guns, and the use of guns has been considered in the hands of someone sane in the mind and has restraint over their actions, and the actions of what happens when a gun finds its way into the hand of someone insane, but something that has not been considered is, what would happen when a gun finds its way into the hands of a child.

What would be the first thing that a child would do with a gun? Would a child’s mind be developed enough to know not to fire a gun at another person, would a child have the restraint not to point the gun at someone and to know not to pull the trigger. A child’s mind is not usually developed enough to not know to shoot someone, a child may not even know that it was a gun. It is preposterous that guns are so easily accessed by nearly everyone of any age.

The people who are affected by the use of guns are the innocent law abiding people, these are the people who feel the pain of the misuse of firearms. I once visited America and was watching the local news and heard of a major gang shootout, and how four innocent citizens were murdered and how five other people were seriously injured, this is a very good example of how it is the innocent people who are affected by the use of gun. It is a fact that eight out of ten people who are murdered from the use of guns are actually innocent in the crime. The people that are affected from the use of guns, are the innocent people caught in the middle of the crimes.

It is now evident that firearms are very easily accessed and that they can be used by nearly anyone, but the question that should be asked is ‘what makes it so easy to acquire a gun?’

The laws created by America are too easy on the purchase of guns, the manufacturing of guns, the age to buy a gun and the use of a gun. The law allows a person of the age of just sixteen to purchase a gun legally, this is disregarding all the people that acquire guns through an illegal route. I find this astonishing due to the fact that in the UK it is possible to buy tobacco at the age of sixteen, but in America you can buy a gun, a weapon that can easily kill at just the age of sixteen, and an age that is not even considered to be an age where a person becomes an adult.

Mr Welsh is a man that has worked in a morgue for over forty five years and is constantly receiving bodies of peoples under the age of twenty years. According to Mr Welsh’s, forty five years of experience, he say’s that six out of ten gun related murders are of people under the age of twenty five. This is clearly indicating that the age to legally buy a gun is far too young.

The law believes that anyone over the age of sixteen is old enough and wise enough to know how to handle a gun, on the other hand I am totally in contrast to the beliefs of the American law, and I believe that no one of any age can be trusted with the responsibility of a gun. I believe that the government needs to totally wipe out the manufacturing of all types of firearms, and to make it illegal to posses a firearm.

Guns are being made so easily to purchase, that it has got to the stage where you can acquire one by just opening a bank account. The idea of this is entirely delirious, but nevertheless it happens, but it needs to stop rather abruptly.

In conclusion I believe that guns need to be stopped and the laws need to become stricter.

When a person dies as a result of a gun, people look for scapegoats to blame while avoiding the very truth that guns itself and nothing else is the problem. It is said that singers such as Marilyn Manson are the problem, because the lyrics in their songs promote violence, but I hardly believe this because if a person chooses to commit a crime it is on their own will and conscience. There are those people that would swear down that the only use of a gun would be for protection, but eventually they kill an innocent person, and regret ever buying the gun. Consequently I believe that guns should be made illegal, and for them to be destroyed.
