The objective of this article is to give more knowledge about the functions of laser printers. Details and specifications of these printers will also be provided. Furthermore, it also shows the benefits and disadvantages of this kind of printer, and help users to choose a printer to purchase.
- Specification Of Laser Printers
Laser printers print text and graphics in high-quality resolutions, usually 1200 dpi for black-and-white printers and up to 2400 dpi for colour printers. A laser printer for the home and small office user typically prints black-and-white text st speeds of 12 to 35 ppm. Colour laser printers print 8 to 30 ppm. Colour laser printers for large bussiness users print more than 150 ppm.
Depending on the quality, speed and type of laser printer, the cost ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for the home and small office user, and several hundred thousand dollars for the large bussiness user. Colour laser printers are slightly higher priced than otherwise equivalent black-and-white laser printers.

4. Advantages & Disadvantages
-
Advantages
The laser printer has the best printing quality compared to all the other printers. Most offices and publishing companies use them, but they are not commonly owned by home users. These printers can print photo quality images as they have very high dots per inch ratio. Their laser beam also comes with an unvarying diameter. This means the printer can draw much more accurately without wasting extra ink. Laser printers also have fairly high speed, especially when printing out images with colour.
4.2. Flaws
Different kinds of printers offer different advantages. However, as no perfect printing device exists, they also have their own problems that cause inconveniences to users. Laser printers are very expensive and are not popular among home users. It does not use ink cartridges, but toner rolls instead and they cost a lot. Colour laser printers are hugely expensive compared to colour inkjet printers. Paper jams also happen frequently for this type of printer.
