What does the table 1 tell us about variations in water quality of rivers (a) between the different regions and (b) over the period in question.
The table looks at five different regions over the period of just over a decade. It shows what the quality of water was like and if it improved or got worse through the mentioned factors.
We will point out the important region of Anglia. It began as one of the average regions in 1990 yet had the lowest good quality water. It improved dramatically and increased its quality by 29%. However it remained the lowest throughout the factors mentioned. The percentage of fair quality actually decreased within Anglia region but that would probably be because the good quality from rivers and canals improved.
The second factor I would like to focus on is Wales and England. Wales and England have provided the highest quality of water for the whole period in question and have since 1990 improved by 20%. Wales on its own was almost double any of the other regions throughout 1990.
We will now look at the poor and bad percentage differences with all the regions.
