P2: Explain how to identify the target market

In this task, I have been asking to identify my potential customers and to explain methods used to find target market, I will explain the following methods;

  • Survey
  • Social Network
  • Newspapers and Magazines
  • Government Statistic

Primary Research: Primary Research happen when someone will do his own research, without help from Internet or newspapers, he will find his own information. Examples of Primary Research are Questionnaire, Survey, Interview, group focus, interviews etc.

Secondary Research: Secondary Research is when someone does not use his own information to complete his research but use someone else research. Example of secondary research sources are newspapers and magazines, internet, library, government statistic

  • Survey

A Survey is a research method used by organisation to find what people thinks about their proposition.  For example company use survey to find out what customers think about their product or service and government use it to find peoples views about a new law. Survey is prepared by the organisation; they put questions that will help them to find out, and then send it to people (sometimes organisation send survey by post, by e-mail or distributes them on the street or organisation headquarters.
