               Financial Services

In the first section of this assignment I will be identifying and investigating a range of suitable financial products for three different customers. The three customers which I will be investigating are ‘A student, ‘A family’, and ‘A business’.

Financial services is always needed, there are many ways of using the financial services (products). There are a number of different services, and not every customer uses similar services. Shown below are a majority of services which most major banks provide to the public.

These services are provided by most high street banks such as; Barclays, HSBC, Abbey, Natwest, etc.

The financial services which are provided are as shown below:

  • Bank account: A Bank Account is a service provided by a bank, it is an account which holds funds within a bank and is subject to additional deposits and withdrawals? A bank account is normally used by most people i.e. business men, families, students etc.
  • Overdraft facilities: An Overdraft is a short term loan taken out by a company or individual that is normally repayable on demand.
  • Loan-Maintenance: A Loan is a sum of money given to an individual or a business with the intent that it is to be repaid at some future date along with any agreed upon interest.
  • Content Insurance: Content Insurance is another service provided by most banks, it is an service which insures all of the items situated at home.
  • Car Insurance: Car insurance is a service provided by most banks and most major supermarket i.e. Tesco, Sainsbury’s etc, it is a service which covers vehicles from stolen/recovery and accidental recovery etc.
  • Higher-purchase: higher purchase is a long-term loan it is paid in monthly instalments; interest may be requested if not paid within a certain period of time.
  • Credit card: credit card is service which makes life easier to withdraw money from several locations. Has to be paid if not there will be interests fees to pay.
  • Pension scheme: pension scheme is provided by most firms including all banks around the world.

Investigated and identified what financial services most banks offer to the public, I will be identifying the suitable financial services for a student. For a student the types of service the banks provide are:

  1. Bank account
  2. Overdraft facilities
  3. Loan maintenance
  4. Credit card
