What Factors Contribute to make a good Leader and how might your Style of Leadership vary to be Successful When Involved in Racket, team and Individual Activities In this essay I will look at what makes a good leader? Different styles of leadership and how you will have to change your leadership styles to suit different activities. There are a lot of things that you need to become a good leader. For example you have to be: * A good communicator * Respected * Empathetic * Knowledgeable * A role model * A high level performer * Confident. Although all of these characteristics are important I think that the most important is respect. I say this because if you have no respect as a leader then people aren't going to listen to you and do what you ask. But if they respect you they will do what you ask. Some people say that you are only a good leader if you have one something. I don't agree with this statement because all you have to do is look at the Premiership to see that teams like Everton and Bolton are challenging for a Champions League position. Everton and Bolton would have been happy with a mid-table finish. The managers haven't won anything with these clubs but they have been very successful. There are three main styles of leadership. These are: * Autocratic * Democratic * Lassez-faire. The first of these is the autocratic style of leadership. An autocratic

Employing and Managing People.

Employing and Managing People. A Report on Recruitment and Selection. Introduction. There are several tasks involved in recruitment and selection. The reason for this, is so that the organisation hires the most effective person to carry out the job, who will get the best result. The organisation must also consider whether the job is achieving its goal. Organisations also need to be careful as recruitment and selection is very expensive and if it is done wrong then there is a wasted cost. In this report I will be explaining the four main tasks used for recruitment and selection. In order to see the effect of these documents I have carried out the tasks on a job at a retail store called Argos. The tasks were based on the Sales Manager job at Argos. The 4 main tasks are explained in the report and what their purpose and importance's are. The tasks are documents and are appended at the end of the report and will be referred to. I chose this job for this assignment because I already work in Argos and it was easier to research into. It was also easier to understand and write the four documents more clearly as I already knew about some of the tasks that are carried out by the manager. The report will also include a bibliography and appended documents. The Documents for Recruitment and Selection There are 4 main tasks involved for the process of recruitment and

Training methods available for a teacher

Task 5 In order to become a qualified ICT teacher I will need to undergo a series of training in order to increase my knowledge and skills and to gain more experience. Having training would benefit me when applying for the role of an ICT teacher as employers would want someone with training. There are 2 types of training: on the job and off the job. On the job training is training that takes place in the workplace in my case on school premises whereas off the job training is training that takes place outside the work place such as courses. The advantages of using on the job training are that it is compared to off the job as you are training them yourself on your own premises. It also means that the employees get to work on in their own environment which makes it more useful to them. This also means that they employees can get to know each other better. The disadvantage of on the job training is that it limits what the employee can learn because the manager, who is most likely the person training the employee, has limited knowledge they can pass on. The advantages of off the job training are that it allows me to learn from more experienced staff. It also allows me to focus on my training and not get distracted by work or other employees. The main disadvantage is the can be expensive because a professional is hired to train the employee. Another disadvantage is that it

In this task I will define social, ethical and list all the self-regulatory and legal laws I will also be explaining how social, ethical and legal responsibilities affect the recruitment and selection process.

Social, Ethical and Legal Responsibilities Introduction In this task I will define social, ethical and list all the self-regulatory and legal laws I will also be explaining how social, ethical and legal responsibilities affect the recruitment and selection process. Moral This is something that a person believes what is right and what is wrong. A person own moral might be different to other because it depends on how they have been brought up and what their religion tells them .e.g. in Islam the believers are told not to drink alcohol and this is something that they can't do no matter what their own values are. Another example can be that a child is told not to smoke and so he might not smoke because of what his parents have told him. Social Responsibility These are duties that an organization has to take care of because it applies to the employees, customers and the environment. It will benefit to the society because of the following: * Benefits to the Society: if my chosen school hires new employees than it will be helping the society as more people will have jobs, if a business manufactures good and becomes responsible than it will produce less hazardous pollution. in my chosen school it will help the society because they will take care of all the rubbish that is lying around the school, they will also make sure that their aren't any hazardous chemicals from the

Consider the view that autocratic leadership has no place in todays business world

Consider the view that autocratic leadership has no place in today's business world. Leadership is influencing and directing the performance of group members towards achieving the goals of and organisation. Characteristics of a good leader are someone who is able to motivate and inspire others. They are innovators who encourage others to accept change. They usually have a natural ability and instinct to lead their organisation to success. Characteristics of an Autocratic leadership style are that the leader takes all decisions and gives little information to workers. They supervise workers closely and only allow one way communication in the business which allows quick decisions to be made. To an extent autocratic leadership has no place in today's business world. This is because workers who want to contribute and accept responsibility are de-motivated as there is no delegation or consultation due to the one way communication which an autocratic leadership style adopts. This means that because of the de-motivated workers, there is an impact on the business as work is less efficient, leading to a lower productivity and maybe even a higher labour turnover. Therefore increasing the costs of the business and lowering its profits. The autocratic style of leadership has similar characteristics to Theory X, where leaders believe that workers need to be controlled and monitored to

It is important because football team want people who know what to do and they also want to know what team you coached. As they want coaches who have played for rival or other professional team. When a new manager who doesn't have previous it is very likely for the football club not to take him as they need someone who can maintain the club financial status and someone who has a proper training schedule for the players. It is very important for the manager to know what he is doing as if the club fails to win and they start to lose money the club would go down into a bottom league and most of the players would leave as the club would not afford to pay there wages, and the club would just be at a terrible state just because the coach never had experience. This is a very important factor if you want to become a coach. It is better for a football manager to start off at a very small club then to move there way up and so or later they would be coaching a very to club. Qualifications: When being a football coach it is very important to have the right qualifications needed as without them it would be very hard to keep the club stable.
