  1. I will compare and contrast organisational structure and functional areas in BP and Xercise4Less.

    In contrast Xercise4Less have less support roles because they are a smaller business and do not need to make use of all of them. However, Xercise4less will also have departments that BP do not have because of the different sector they work in. Xercise4less works in the health sector compared to BP who work in the energy and natural resources sector. The support roles in Xercise4Less are Membership Consultant, Reception, Housekeeper, Personal Trainer, Maintenance, Purchase Lodger Clerk, Human Resources, Customer Service and Social Media Assistant.

    The importance of this act is that it will help protect customers? rights from falling in the wrong hand being wrongly used. It will also help assure customers and make them trust companies like Tesco with their personal information. Freedom of information Act 2000 The Freedom of Information Act 2000 allows anyone from the public to access information that the public authorities has about them. This can be done in two different ways, the first one is that public authorities are forced to publish certain information about their activities and the other is that members of the public are entitled to request information from public authorities whenever they need that information.

    "After doing my primary research on the 4 small shops, and doing secondary researches on book, I come to the conclusion of that profit is the key motivation for owners of small shops. The rest of the factor, are a subsidiary, without profit the rest of the factors cannot be achieved, such as reputation, growth., personal satisfaction... However, once a shop is well stabled, reputation becomes a major factor for motivation, as important as profit. High profits and prestige, motivates the owner of small shops, because they feel they are carrying out well their job. In conclusion, Profit and reputation are the major motivation factors for small shop owners, without them, they cannot achieve other objectives such as growth, survival, personal satisfaction, income, personal wealth... 1 See Appendix 1"

  • To what extent is profit a good indicator of the success of an organisation

    "In conclusion, defining appropriate success measurements of an organization is not a simple affair. It involves a focus on what stakeholders want rather than what the organisation is achieving. Often determining success measurements requires a long-term view. Though profit is a good indicator, it can not reveal how an organisation runs. In some cases, like in the not-for-profit organisation, profit is not an indicator of success of an organisation at all. So there is no exact answer to respond what extent is profit a good indicator of success of an organisation. But reader should recognize that we can solve this problem by analysing profit that organisation achieve with a lot of other external complications."

    "In conclusion, the adoption of euro will encourage trade which will benefit the every business as they might have more revenue gained, also could have boost some profit to the business and lead to a greater success. But the adoption could also lead to a great danger, it is because if the UK joins the eurozone, UK will be also affected by the crisis in Greece and lead to depreciation in euro, and businesses will be suffered a lot and some may even lose out in the market. Also at present there are still no plans for the UK to join the euro, so now businesses can suffer less, and also as UK expectation growing, business might reach success soon."
