Information
I looked up registration forms on the web to get a rough idea of what should be in the form, this helped me produced a form that looked professional.
Order of work
First I went into word and pasted my logo from publisher in to the program. Then I devised suitable questions for the form, and then I typed up the questions. I then printed out five copies and filled them out.
Evaluation
The task was to design and create a registration form and I think that my registration form meets the standard set for this task.
Strengths and weaknesses
The strengths of my registration form are that it has all the necessary questions, and it is also very clear and easy to read. The weaknesses are that I don’t think there are enough questions, even though I have most of the questions I need I think I could have put more down.
Further improvements
If I was going to improve this project I would think up more questions that I could include into the registration form.
Task 3 (A, B, C, D)
Aim
The aim was to enter the information about the clients on resource sheet one into a database, put into the alphabetical order, keep it up to date using resource sheet two and print out copies of the data in alphabetical order showing only surnames, first names and telephone numbers.
Software and techniques
I used Claris to put all the information into the database. I also used the Internet to get pictures to go onto the database.
Problems
I had a problem with the picture field and the pictures I was trying to insert. The fields were to big for the pictures so I had to enlarge the pictures in paint and then insert the pictures into the field, and they fitted better after that.
Information
I got the information of the clients for the database off the resource sheets given to us.
Order of work
First I entered the data into the database then I found pictures on the Internet to go into the database for the file pictures. Then I printed it out. Then I sorted the data into alphabetical order and printed it out. Then I updated the data using resource sheet two and printed the data again, finally I printed out a copy of the data in alphabetical order with only the names and the telephone numbers of the clients.
Evaluation
The task was to make a database with the client’s information on, which I believe I did. I also made it clear and easy to read.
Strengths and weaknesses
The strengths of my work were that it was clear and easy to find the information as the data is in alphabetical order. The weaknesses are that the pictures, no matter what I did, did not fit into the picture boxes on the database completely.
Further improvements
If I were going to improve this task I would take the time to try and fit the pictures perfectly into the picture boxes to get a complete finish.
Task 4 (A, B, C)
Aim
In this task I had to compose a suitable e-mail replying to the letter on resource sheet 3. Then search the database for clients that meet the criteria. Then prepare a mail merge letter to those clients suitable for the job.
Software and Techniques
I used word to produce the letter in and I used claris, as the data base was in that program, to find the clients that met the criteria.
Problems
I had problems with the mail merge as it was quite difficult to do, but once I ha worked out how to do it, I could easily do it with out problems.
Information
I got the information about the clients that the person in the letter wanted from the resource sheet given.
Order of work
First I read the resource sheet to find out what clients would be suitable. I then searched my database to find the clients. Once I had found the suitable clients for the job I printed them off. Then I created a letter that would be suitable for the clients, and I mail merged the letter and printed the copies off. I then made an e-mail reply to the letter on the resource sheet. I then sent it to the e-mail address given and printed the copy off.
Evaluation
I believe the work does answer the task as it answer the questions that was given.
Strengths and weaknesses
I think I could have worded the letter better as it wasn’t perfect. The strengths of the work was that it did answer the task and I completed it/
Further improvements
If I were going to do any further work on this task I would re-write the letter so that it was really good instead of just being ok.
Task 5 (A, B)
Aim
Using resource sheet 4 I had to write a report to my line manager about the progress of jobs4very1 over the next five years.
Software and techniques
I created this task in word as it was a word document. As I included graphs in the report I also used Claris to add the information into the graphs, I then cut and paste them into my word document. I also included a table of information, which I did in word as I entered a table and then entered the information into it.
Problems
I didn’t have any problems with this task; apart from writing the actual report, as it was quite difficult to make sure I got all the information I needed for the report to be successful.
Information
I got all the information for the report from the resource sheet given, as it included research from the last five years of the business.
Work order
I first read through the resource sheet and then inserted all the information that I would use in the report into tables and graphs. I then wrote the report out and pasted the graphs and tables in where I thought were necessary. I then printed the report out.
Evaluation
This work does answer the task requirements, as it includes everything that the task needs.
Strengths and weaknesses
The strengths of my work is that it does answer the task requirements. The report is also clear and easy to read and it includes graphs and tables full of information that is necessary. The weaknesses however, is that I think the report lacks detail and I think that I could have included more information.
Further improvements
If I were going to do any improvements I would rewrite the report and include more detail and information to make the report really detailed.
Task 6 (A, B)
Aim
First I had to search the Internet for agencies in the same area as my job agency. Then I had to create a website to promote my company with information about jobs4every1.
Software and techniques
I used the Internet to search for the companies in the area, I used search engines such as google, MSN and Lycos, and I typed in job agencies in Weybridge and Chertsey. I used FrontPage to create my website.
Major problems
The main problems I had with my website was trying to get the hyperlinks to work as they wouldn’t link with the pages. I over came this problem this by re doing the hyperlink and then it linked with the pages that I wanted it to. I also had problems with the printing of the website as it does not print the way it looks on the computer. I had to rearrange the a few things to make sure that it al fitted on the pages and made sense to look at, but this still wasn’t as good as how it looked on the computer.
Information
Before I made my website, as I was searching the web for agency sites, I looked at many other sites so that I got a good idea of how an agency site would look. I also got an idea of what to put onto my site.
Order of work
First I went onto the Internet and search for job agencies. I used Internet search engines like google and MSN an also Lycos. I used ‘and’ search to find the websites that I wanted. I then copied the information onto a table, which I then printed out.
Next I had to create my website. I started this by creating a home page first in FrontPage. I started by putting hyperlink down one side of the page. I had four buttons, which I then hyperlink to a information page, registration form, database and home page. I would have these buttons on each page of the website. I had to insert a table to put the buttons on one side and the writing on the other, as it would not let me type next to the buttons, which I wanted to do. Once I had created my home page, I then went into the hyperlink page from the registration form. I went into the word document of the registration form that I had already done for the other task and copied and pasted it into a table. I had to keep the table, as I wanted the buttons down the side. I then hyperlink the page database and filled in the table of information about the clients that I have in my database. I went into the hyperlink page of information. I typed information about jobs that the company has to offer and information about the jobs themselves. Once I had finished this I printed all the pages out along with a diagram of the hyperlinks of the web site. I also printed out the HTML code for the website to show all the things that I have done to create the website.
Evaluation
I believe that my website does meet the design brief. The website is clear and easy to use, and would be easy to fine want you need to find out quickly.
Strengths and weaknesses
The strengths of my website are that it does meet the design brief and that it looks good. The weaknesses of my website are that it could include more information and pictures.
Further improvements
If I was to do any further improvements I would include more information in the website and maybe include some picture to make it more eye pleasing.
