How and why is the climate of the inner city area different from that of the suburbs? Examine the impacts of industrialization and urbanization on the human health and how these impacts could be reduced to a minimum.

They absorb heat during daily time.In urban city, there is lack of vegetation, together with good drainage and sewage system, rainfall is drained out freely. Therefore, there is no process to dissipate the heat. Heat is retained in the inner city.As a result, the temperature is high at inner city and experiences a thermal dume. Temperature is higher in inner city. For example temperature is 1.3℃ higher in inner London of Britain. Temperature inversion is likely occurs because the pollutants absorb the outgoing radiation. Cloud cover is denser and thicker in inner city because the heat generate convection up rise of unstable air and the pollutants act as condensation nuclei for cloud formation.Rainfall is higher in city because of the favorable condition for formation of cloud. Most of the rainfall is acid rain. The pH value is usually 4 to 5. Sometimes, it may drop to 2.Visibility is low because of the concentration of pollutant and frog.Wind is weak but there is small turberlunce because of the rough building.Industrialization and urbanization affect our health. The combustion of fossil fuel by vehicles and noxious industries produce CO2, SO, CO, NO. Air pollution is serious. The pollution indexes sometime exceed 100in industrial area, contributing to respirationary disease and lung cancer. People are forced to stay indoors. The formation of fog and smog even kill people. The London smog in 1952 killed 400 people. The London smog in 1956 even infused into building. Some radioactive waste for example nuclear wastes are toxic. The leakage of nuclei factory in former USSA killed many people and the effects are long term.Some activities indirectly pass through to human food chain, for example, the Minamata disease in Tokyo. The dumping of chemical waste into the sea polluted the sea and killed many people. Many rivers and lakes may also be polluted and underground water contaminated. The disease store in fish or animal body and them transmitted to human.The impacts can be reduced to minimum through strict pollution control. The government can expose pollution tax on industry and force them to install filter system and sewerage system and waste dispose system. Therefore air is filtered and water treated before discharge. A heavy fine and penalty on those who do not comply with the law is needed to deter them.The government should disperse the industries from congested area to sparsely populated area to minimize the pollution on residence. Industrial estates should be set up in suburb.Land use zoning can restrict the land use in different area by restricting the location of industry and separating the industry with residential area.
