There are many skeptics on the crash at Roswell. These skeptics range from the average person who doesn’t believe in aliens, to religious leaders, to government officials and even to some UFO researches. There are some skeptics that simply believe there is not enough evidence to support saying that aliens crashed in Roswell. A respected UFO researcher by the name of Karl T. Pflock stated in January of 1997 that: “Based on my research and that of others, I'm as certain as it's possible to be without absolute proof that no flying saucer or saucers crashed in the general vicinity of Roswell or on the Plains of San Agustin in 1947. The debris found by Mac Brazel...was the remains of something very earthly, all but certainly something from the Top Secret Project Mogul....The formerly highly classified record of correspondence and discussions among top Air Force officials who were responsible for cracking the flying saucer mystery from the mid-1940s through the early 1950s makes it crystal clear that they didn't have any crashed saucer wreckage or bodies of saucer crews, but they were desperate to have such evidence.” The problem with this type of skepticism is that these people are dismissing any possibility of an alien Roswell crash without observing all the evidence. The government may keep evidence away from the public indefinitely. Other skeptics claim that the existence of aliens are heavenly and connect somehow to religion or simply that aliens do not exist. For instance, Paul Crouch, the CEO of The Trinity Broadcasting Network, a network which televises church services, said that: “We believe that UFOs and their hosts are the "Wicked Hosts in High Places" of Ephesians 6:12. We are warned several places in the Bible not to worship the heavenly hosts. It is also said that Yahweh/Jehovah is the Lord of Hosts (Saboath).” What this man is basically trying to say is that the aliens incidents we encounter is actually Satin himself. It is a lot harder for me to believe that Satin would be coming to earth in alien spaceships rather than actual aliens traveling to earth from distant space. Astronomers also estimate that there is approximately one million earth-like planets within one-hundred million light years from earth. So the probability of at least some alien life is much more probable than earth being the only life sustaining planet.
The interest about what happened at Roswell would not even be close to what it is today if it were not for eyewitnesses of the crash or its aftermath. Jesse Marcel set off the interest in Roswell when in 1978, Stanton T. Friedman interviewed Mr. Marcel who is the only known person to transport the Roswell crash materials. At this time he reported dealing with alien wreckage back in 1947 when the crash occurred. After Jesse Marcel came forward with his story, others soon followed. While hundreds of people claimed to be an eyewitness, only a few today are considered credible. Other credible witnesses include Mac Brazel, Bessie Brazel, Colonel Blanchard, Colonel DuBose, Frank Kauffmann, Walter Haut, Jim Ragsdale, Glen Dennis, Gerald Anderson, and J. Bond Johnson. Mac and Bessie Brazel owned the land where the wreckage was found. Bessie, who was only six years old at the time, first found the wreckage. Mac Brazel, the father of Bessie, later reported the incident to the local police. Colonel Blanchard was the commander of the 509th bomb group who were the first military officials to see the wreckage. Immediately following the discovery and transport of the wreckage, Colonel Blanchard went on a very suspicious two week leave. Many believe that during these two weeks he was transporting and experimenting on alien wreckage and alien bodies. Colonel DuBose is suspected of replacing the real wreckage with a weather balloon. Frank Kauffmann was a military official who claimed to have involvement in an alien research program run by the United States government and has claimed to have done research on the Roswell wreckage. Walter Haut was the author of the first press release stating that the Air Force had found a flying saucer. Jim Ragsdale was a local truck driver who claimed to be sitting in the back of his truck when all of the sudden he saw a huge disc-looking object crashing into the ground. Glen Dennis was the interviewer of a nurse who reportedly preformed an autopsy on one of the alien bodies. This nurse was sworn to secrecy but she told her secret to Glen Dennis. The nurse was shortly after transferred to England and later was reported diseased in a military plane crash. Gerald Anderson holds his uncle’s personal diary, which includes information about the Roswell crash. J. Bond Johnson is the only person to have taken pictures of the wreckage found. There is a total five photos which survive today. Each of these witnesses tells very important information about the crash. Unfortunately, the lack of physical evidence makes it hard to believe these witnesses. However, the detail explained by each of these witnesses is far to similar to totally dismiss their testimonies.
The debate on the Roswell crash does not seem likely to end. The United States Government will not release any physical evidence or reports that completely explain the situation in favor of one side or the other. Without a piece of evidence that would prove the existence of an alien crash in Roswell, like an alien corpse, the speculation will continue. The way in which the government explained away this event as a fallen weather balloon, you would think more research and attention would given to the Roswell crash and other alien reports. You would think that people would demand the truth. The discovery of a living alien species would be the most important event in the history of the world. People who believe in aliens have to understand that the majority of the general population would rather be ignorant to the truth. The general population would rather aliens remain a mystery and entertainment device. For the people who really think that alien life exists, they know that one day they will probably be proven right. Maybe not about a particular incident like the Roswell crash, but through the infinite distance of space, there must be other life.
