TITLE "HOW CAN WEST HAM UNITED HOSPITALITY IMPROVE ITS COMMUNICATION?" BACKGROUND The club was founded in 1895 as a company team of the Thames Ironworks. In 1900, the club became a limited liability company under the name of West Ham United, this proved to be vital for the progress of the club. In 1904, the club decided to move to its present ground in Upton Park. In 1992/93, the club was promoted to the FA Premier League, which is the top flight in English football and the best league in the world. The stadium has continuously been improved and at this moment the stadiums capacity is 30 000. Plans have been accepted and construction of one of the two stands has commenced. Once the new stands have been completed in 2003, the capacity would have increased to 46 000 and Upton Park would be one of the best stadiums in England. The ground is situated in Upton Park, East London and in the heart of one of London's ethnic minority communities. The Hospitality department at West Ham United is continuously improving. The Stadium has approximately thirty bars, kiosks and suites in total. The Risks of Having a Facebook Account Immediately after the discussion in class regarding Facebook privacy, the first thing I did when I got home from school was to check the limitedness of my Facebook profile to people whom I have no connections with. I am particularly keen with the privacy settings of my profile in any social networking site I associate my identity and email address with so the privacy check that I engaged in a few weeks ago was just to verify whether or not I have properly safeguarded my Facebook profile. What I did was to sign out from Facebook and search my name as an anonymous individual. I recognized my profile among others whom I shared a name with through my profile picture. What made my name stand out from all the other Gerard Padillas were the university and high school networks which were under my name. I clicked my name and realized that only a larger version of the thumbnail of my current profile picture is further revealed upon clicking my name. I checked some of my friends' profiles and theirs disclosed a few of their friends. This revelation is already quite jeopardous since spammers and people who are up to no good can collect information and also be able to verify assumptions through one's set of friends. Also, the friends who are revealed, especially those who have weak privacy settings, are put in a risk. What really alarmed me was the
D2. Evaluate the tools and techniques used to create finished animations. 000 Words on Fireworks Features There are features that are available on fireworks that allow you to create animations you can set up frames so that you can put images in and then you can progress the animations through the frames that you setup. When creating an animation on fireworks it is frame by frame, so this means that you will have to alter every frame so that it actually moves because if you don't make every frame move slightly then it will jump and this will make the animation look out of sync and look bad. The thing about fireworks is that it takes a long while because you have to alter every frame. Fireworks are also good because it is primarily used for graphics so you can alter your images to make them look sharper and more in sync with the actual animation. When you have created your animation there is also an option on the frame speed (fps) which allows you to speed up or slow down your animation. You can also cut and crop your image this is a good thing because you are able to do all of the animation and all the graphical work in the fireworks program. Whereas if you created the animation in any other software package then you will have to do the graphics in a program and the animation in another by doing it in fireworks you can do them both at the same time. Advantages The
Assess ways in which information technology can enable visually impaired students to access their studies and employment.
Research Brief 9469 - I.T. (2000 words, May 2004) * Assess ways in which information technology can enable visually impaired students to access their studies and employment. Independence, integration and participation are three fundamental concepts for visually impaired citizens. Independence in the sense of self-sufficiency, thereby eradicating the requirement of everyday personal assistance and support functions, integration not only in the work place but also throughout all levels of education, and (active) participation pervading all facets of society. Are these concepts, or goals, wholly achievable however? There are many ways in which these aims can be fulfilled for visually impaired citizens, but perhaps one of the most powerful means is through the use of information technology. This is particularly relevant when it comes to visually impaired students and the ways in which they access their studies (in further and higher education) and their modes of employment. This work is concerned with such ideas - firstly an overview will be presented in terms of a visually impaired citizen - what it actually means to be visually impaired, what differing levels of sight such a person can have, and what difficulties such a person could encounter when studying in further or higher education. The focus then shifts to technology and what ways information technology (hardware and

A Wiki, in more complex terms, would be described as a piece of server software that allows users to freely edit web page content or simply create their own using any web browser. Ward Cunningham is a computer programmer and inventor of the Wiki concept. He founded the first Wiki site in 1995. Ward Cunnigham describes a Wiki as "The simplest online database that could possibly work." In order to decide which Wiki site to use, we looked at several Wiki Farms in order to select the best one: * SEEDWIKI http://www.seedWiki.com Seed Wiki hosts non-commercial Wikis for free. Give an overview of computer networks, describing some of the different kinds of network? This report will focus on the following: • What computer networks are? • The common types of networks they are? • Identifying and describing the different types of networks. • Summing up the topic in conclusion. This technical report will not include the technicality of networks and it will only focuses on the common types of network topologies e.g. star, bus and ring. Computer network is a group of two or more computer systems linked together to share information and hardware. See below image. According to John Wobus (1994), the most common topology of networks includes the bus, star, and token ring topologies. Networks can also be characterised in terms of spatial distance as local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN), and wide area networks (WAN). There are five different types of networks, they are: * Local-area networks (LANs): The computers are geographically close together (that is, in the same building). * Wide-area networks (WANs): The computers are further apart and are connected by telephone lines or radio waves. * Campus-area networks (CANs): The computers are within a limited geographic area, such as a campus or military base. * Metropolitan-area networks (MANs): A data network designed for a town or city. * Home-area networks
This report seeks to study the social phenomenon of Short Messaging Service (SMS) and youths in Singapore.
OBJECTIVES This report seeks to study the social phenomenon of Short Messaging Service (SMS) and youths in Singapore. The motivation behind this project is due to the increasing number of SMS users especially among the youngsters. This reports not only gives the chronology of how SMS evolved, but also the basic background to SMS in Singapore, explaining the environment, organisations, people and technology involved. The analysis of the pros, cons and social impact of SMS on youths will also be explored. On top of that, a survey will be done to substantiate some of the more important findings. In addition, a case study on SMS and youths in Australia will be discussed, with certain comparing and contrasting to the situation in Singapore. INTRODUCTION The use of mobile phones has gained worldwide popularity with the youth. From the report of mobileYouth 2003, there are currently 239 million youngsters aged 5-24 in 2003 in 20 important markets and they own 104 million mobile phones (a penetration rate of 44%). Closely integrated with the use of mobile phone is the use of Short Messaging Service (SMS). As the name suggests, SMS is, simply put, a service whereby a user types a message in his mobile phone and sends it to other users. This SMS service is instantaneous, private and user-friendly. A single SMS has an inherent limitation to a maximum of 160 characters per SMS and
I will be looking at different search engines in order to find the information that I am looking for. The information that I am going to be researching is house price data. I'm going to compare 3 search engines to see which one is most appropriate in what I'm looking for. Text based search engine: For this section I'm going to use Google as the text based search engine. In my personal experience many people use Google as their primary search engine. I'm going to search house price data in Google's search bar and see what results I get back from it. The index returned 125,000,000 hits relating to my topic. Directory search engine: For the directory search, I will be using the live search to see what results I get from the topic that I am researching. The results from the search came back with 67,200,000 hits relating to my topic. Meta search engine: For this section I'm going to use ask.com search engine. Ask.com is a little different from the other two search engines because it allows you to actually type a question in e.g. 'how do you build a website' this will return a list of reference related to building a website which I feel is good. I'm going to research the same topic as I did in the other two search engines and see what results I get. The result from this search engine is that I received 4,477,000 hits relating to house price data. Comparing my results

Knowledge and understanding of Word Software A professional looking document is more likely to communicate effectively with the audience when the information presented is shown in a way that any one that needs to read it will be able to understand it. Professional documents are usually well structured and appropriately styled so that they communicate effectively to the target audience. To ensure that the correct structure and style's are used it may be relevant to research into the styles that have been used in past documents for the company. The styles that are used are more than likely to be a theme of colour's that are used throughout all documents within in the company. When creating a word document it is important to communicate the information that is needed clearly and accurately to the audience. To do this we have to ensure that first of all the font, size and color are suitable for the audience we are looking at. How a document is set out can help towards the understanding of the content of the text. For this reason it is important that in any word document I create I keep a professional feel to the document. The basics that are needed to create a professional document: * Page numbers * Headers * Footers * Same font size and style throughout the document * Same font colour, unless necessary * The line spacing needs to be kept the same throughout the
