The first phase of the new strategy launches on June 11 with an announcement of the offering targeting Columbia House抯 DVD membership base. Research shows that there is a major demand for video games among DVD and Music club members. The marketing and selling of video games makes sense on many levels, extending product offerings while considerably improving members?experience. This was a natural development of the Columbia House business, and they believe Majesco is the right partner to help them implement it. Majesco is recognized both for its rank as a video game publisher and its strong relationships in the video game development, publishing and retail communities. The company will assist Columbia House in procuring all game-related products from all major video game publishers, including new releases, pre-orders, greatest hits, and close-out titles. In addition, Majesco will provide merchandising, co-op advertising and strategic consulting. Also Columbia House is using interactive entertainment software to market their video games and hopefully other electronic entertainment that Columbia House wants to market. This is a good market strategy and builds reputation for Columbia House. This was a large marketing mix, to sign with another name to help strategize their video game market. Coming on board with their new market strategy that Columbia has to offer, Amazon.com is still ahead of the game. It thought of the idea first and marketed immediately and now it is number one in e-business in videos and video games.
