'The UK is suffering from a democratic deficit’ – How far do you agree with this statement? A democratic deficit is where democracy is lacking in a country. The statement implies citizens have less say than then used to. Many people believe their vote isn’t worth anything. This has led to the 2019 election that had 67.3% of voters vote. more to do with people not bothering or feeling the vote is unfair. Many people have to choose tactically because they think their party wont win so instead of choosing the one they want, they choose the least worst. You also have people whose parents chose a party so wont even look at the rest of the parties and don’t even know what some of their party stands for.
