Generating ideas for a final design for a sexy womenswear design was compelling, because I was drawn into it by sheer excitement and with fascination.

The idea for the “Bumsters” came from a picture on my moodboard, of Jordan and her bumcrack. I thought that by unpicking, dying and restyling a vintage pair of LEVI’S 501’s by lowering the waistband, and making the jeans baggier from around the bottom, would be a fantastic way of modernizing a true classic.

Firstly, like I said, the trousers will have to be taken apart. Then they will have to be dyed to a dark indigo blue. Furtherly, the 501’s will have their waistband lowered, but sewn baggier, giving them a loose relaxed feel. The elasticated leg cuffs with press studs will come for m an old coat, which will be dyed yellow and sewn on to the leg holes to give them a better look and fit around the legs.

Yellow stitching lines will also be used to construct the garment, adding colour and contrast to a dark colour.

The jacket steals the limelight with its retro yet modern look. The net mesh used as the back panel, originally from a curtain blind is the main features and will draw attention to the back. The design is innovative with a razor sharp cutting edge- totally unique.

The actual jacket is made from an old men’s blazer which is electric blue- totally from the 80’s. The material from this blazer will be used to construct the jacket. Because it is a fitted jacket, darts will be used in the construction to give a better shape and fit to the bust.

The internal lining of the jacket will be made from

an egg yellow silk- like polyester, which was originally used in a Chinese styled dress.

The yellow will work when juxtaposed with an eccentric colour like electric blue.

Lining will also be soft against the sin and will be easy to slide on and off. The silk- like polyester is also light reflective, and will bounce off light, making it eye-catching, and be-dazzling.

The zip on the bottom right hand side of the jacket is from an old skirt. The zip is a modern inconspicuous one, again giving the jacket more shape.

The buckle and belt combo is from an old trench coat. These will have to be bleached first, and then dyed yellow. Also, the buckle helps to emphasise the hipline, making the body look sexier.

The scarf band shown on the design is just a multi-coloured polka dot handkerchief being sold at the British Heart Foundation Shop.

I thought a nice way to finish off the outfit would be with vintage cowboy boots, with authentic metal spikes at the back of them because LEVI’S was originally worn by cowboys because of the durable quality of LEVI’S.

All my inspiration for this whole design from the BHP shop were the colours. There were a lot of blues available and this was ideal for the coming season and most importantly, it was the colour that LEVI’S originally was and is the colour that LEVI’S is today.
