Report on application forms and letterheads.

Report on application forms and letterheads... Contents Page Introduction I have collected 6 documents. I collected a letterhead and an application form each from 3 different companies. This report will show my findings and working out of the 6 collected documents. Description of each document will be shown along with their good points and bad points on the writing and presentation style. This report will also show the similarities of the 6 documents and how they could be improved. The content, layout and purpose of the documents will also be discussed in this report to help me get to a conclusion. Office World Letterhead Content The content shown in the letterhead is basic. It has the 'Office World' company logo which is there to represent the true company identity. It is an eye-catching logo because of the colours that have been used by the designer to create it. The letters in the logo are big and bold which help it to stand out from the background and attracts a reader's attention. The colour used in the background for the company logo, contrasts well with the company name because they are both dissimilar colours which help it to be eye-catching. This letterhead also has footer which provides details of the company. These details can help a reader in many ways. If the reader wants to communicate with the company in any way he can do so by either using the fax

Designing a Logo

Communicating I will be aiming to design hardware like mouse's, keyboards etc. so I was thinking what logo I should use, I was thinking long and hard then came up with Tax, Flex and Bolt. Flex is simple and easy to produce and looks more professional then the others. Imagine Flex mouse's or Flex keyboard. Tax looks good, but it doesn't sound that good. Plus if I do it colorful then it would cost more money and Tax would be quite hard to produce again and again. Bolt is ok but I was told it look like a game title! Not what I was looking for in a logo. Plus it would also be hard to produce again and again. I couldn't decide which one to choose so I done a questionnaire. I asked all the people in the classroom at the time (forgot how many of them there were), most people voted for Flex. I was pleased because all you have to do for the ƒ is hold down Alt (not Alt Gr), and on the left hand side numbers type 1, 5 and 9. Or as I found out kp_end, kp_5 and kp_pgup. When you let go of Alt... hey presto a ƒ rite before your eyes. Then I just type the lex bit and underline it. And to make the Flex more pretty I made it red. So your finished product will be something like this ƒlex. See it looks pretty good and better then Tax and Bolt I assure you. The software I will use for my logos will be Microsoft paint and for my questionnaire I will use Microsoft word. And sir

Logo Design.

Logo Design Logo inspiration To create my logo at first I had to decide on the business, I was going to create my logo for. I was intrigued by many businesses and finally decided to create a logo for Europa pools as it is local swimming pool and I visit it regularly and the history of the business is available as it is local. So I can find information on the business e.g. market segment, which my logo can be situated around. Creating logo To start creating my logo for Europa pools, I had to plan my basic design for the logo that I did on paper before accessing the computer. Once on computer I decided to uses the program paint, which is on windows. Once I was on paint I started creating my logo. The program paint is very understanding. First I decided to use the text box to create the letter E, which symbolises Europa. I, did this very easily as I have a very good understanding of paint as I have used it many times. To create text you click the text button And place the text box where u acquire It. Also before clicking text box u can decided the colour of the text by clicking on a colour I choose black. Next step Also I decided to add a other text box to which I did again very easily by clicking the text box and place the text box where I acquired it to be. Text box Next step Before I done this I decided on the colour of my writing.

'Produce a promotional package for a newly formed company'.

Plan For this project, I have been asked to 'Produce a promotional package for a newly formed company'. This document is my plan for that coursework task In order to complete this task successfully, I have been asked to include the following features: - > A suitable logo for the company > A business card > Letter headed paper > An introductory leaflet, suitable for presentation to a prospective client, giving brief details of the services offered by the company. To complete this task I will be required to carry out some research, which will involve using the Internet, and also completing a small amount of non-IT research, perhaps involving a promotional package from a competitors company. These will be included in my next section. In order to create the above items, I will need to use various computer programs and software tools, including a word processor and a desktop publishing program. These will be sufficient to use in order to create a business card, a letter headed sheet and an introductory leaflet. To design a suitable company logo, I intend to attempt to create a relatively simple logo, as my research will prove that successful companies can succeed with only the simplest of logos. For this reason, I intend to use a relatively simple graphics program. Obviously, I will also need to use a web browser as part of my research, and this is the same both at school

General Overview I had to create a logo that would promote the video shop and encourage people to gain membership. I did it in "Serif page plus eight" and used clipart from the web and used a text wizard from "Serif page plus eight" to create the text for the logo. This task was predominantly easy; all it involved was creating a logo from text and clipart. It went well because it was particularly easy to do, and it did not contain any hard work or complicated things to do. Obtaining the graphics was harder than I thought it would be. I had to go into MSWord and get the clipart graphics from the Internet. I had to make no modifications to the plan, because the task is so simple. Criteria for Success * Enable customers to set apart the video shop by means of this logo. It enables customers to set apart this video shop by the logo, because it is a unique logo, to which no other video shop has access. This enables the customer to recognise Mercury Entertainment by the logo, and also informs and makes the customer know about us sub-consciously, so that they will know us and trust us when they come to rent from Mercury Entertainment. * Be easy to replicate, so that I can put it on the material quickly. It is easy to replicate, because it is in a separate file as a picture on its own, so any program that I use can easily import the picture, rather than having to open

Create a system that lets you find plants that fit certain height, width and light requirements.

Design Task 5 Task 5 is to create a system that lets you find plants that fit certain height, width and light requirements. The system must be easy to use. The software that I can use to create this particular system is Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel but Microsoft Access is better and more sufficient to use because it allows you to create Forms, Queries, Reports, and Macros, whereas Microsoft Excel doesn't have any features to allow you to do these particular tasks. To do the task, first of all I will have to do the query, which will include the fields: * Common name * Maximum height * Maximum width * Flowering period After doing the query I will then have to design the report, which will have the details of the plants that grow in particular light conditions. Then I will have to do the form and the macro. All this can be done on Microsoft Access and it cannot be done on Microsoft Excel, so this is the reason why I have chosen to do the task on Microsoft Access rather than on Microsoft Excel. To do the query first of all I will have to go to the file "plant data" open it up and design the query using the fields Common Name, Max Height, Max Width, Flowering Period and Light Needed. These fields are already fixed in onto the computer. After this I will also have to do the macro which will be done by first of all going onto the macro file and then the action

Life Cycle of a Product

life cycle of a product introduction At this stage, the product is designed, manufactured and brought into the market. The product's initial sales will be slow until the company builds an awareness of the product to potential customers, and this is when the introduction stage closes. In an example of a book, the introduction stage will involve creating, editing and publishing the book, and printing the books initial orders to be sent to book shops. growth At this stage, after completing the introduction phase, the product will begin to come into its own in the market scene. This is the peak time for profit to be made, because as the demand increases, the production increases which therefore leads to lower cost per unit. Advertising campaigns are usually introduced around this time, attracting new and/or wider target markets. Every company wants this stage of a product's life as long as possible. In the example of a book, this is the stage where news has spread about the novel, and copies are beginning to sell at an increasingly fast pace. The book at this point may win awards or be reviewed which should spark interest further. maturity At the maturity stage, sales growth has reached its peak and started to slow and is approaching the point where the inevitable decline will begin. Competitors may begin to have the advantage forcing the company to lower prices,

ICT - system outputs

System Outputs What are the advantages and disadvantages of using each output device for EACH of your subsystems? SUB-SYSTEM 1 Logo Monitor (TFT and CRT) Printer (Laser and Inkjet) An image used to represent the company created using computer software. It can be given a more professional edge by using effects and tools. Makes the company easy to identify and remember. Advantages of using this device for a Logo You are able to see what you are doing, without one; a computer would be a mere typewriter. This is very important because you can see the effects of the tools and what the created logo looks like at all stages of the making. Laser printers do not smudge after printing and are faster than their inkjet counterparts. It allows us to quickly and easily transfer identical images onto paper. It is neater and simpler than redrawing the logo repeatedly. Disadvantages of using this device for a Logo CRT can burn the inside of the screen if it gets hot enough. A colour on screen may look different to the one printed. Laser printers are very bulky and expensive. Printers run out of ink, so a malfunction could occur in which the logo comes out in a different colour or tone to the one desired, thus changing the connotations of logo. Which output device would be better to use for this sub-system? The best out-put device for a logo, is the one already in use, a

A experimental approach(, specifically, After-Only with Control Group Design )is carried out to testing and measuring the different outcomes exposed to the two graphic designs. In the report, it is found that the research design offers many advantages such as high degree of validity and causality, meanwhile bearing disadvantages such as measurement error and limited period. Moreover, by analysing the results of the test, manager should pay attention to the decreased re-purchase level as well as the increased column of product purchase. Consequently, we recommend that DVD.com should extend the test period to get more observation before replace the current graphic. And another survey methods should be employed to help to assess the effectiveness of the new graphic. II Introduction
