Beeston Rylands Golf Course I.C.T. Cousework

Beeston Rylands Golf Course Introduction Welcome to my GCSE ICT project. I will be basing my project around a local golf club. I have approached and asked them as to whether they required any ICT solutions. They replied saying that they already had an ITC consultant but had a few problems for which I could produce solutions. Above are some pictures of the course. It is widely regarded as one of the best golf courses in the region. It has over fifty registered members. The club is based in a suburb of west Nottingham. It is regarded as a beautiful piece of land in the middle of the modern town of Beeston. The main course is an eighteen hole Par 70 championship course that has been the host of many major amateur tournaments. It has even had the honour of playing host to the Senior Masters of Great Britain championship. It also has a nine hole par 27 junior course. Naturally the club has a restaurant, complete with licensed bar, and a shop selling all of latest equipment. There also are 4 practise putting greens. For entertainment there are two pool tables and a dartboard. The entrance to the golf club is quite secluded from the main road that runs through Beeston. The population of Beeston is around fifteen thousand. Interview I interviewed Mr Ian Smith the owner of the golf club to try to find possible tasks: RP: Hello, are there any problems in particular with the

While making my product (chess) I have learnt and experienced many new things. I have learnt about designs

While making my product (chess) I have learnt and experienced many new things. I have learnt about designs, for example how to make a product very eye catching and attractive for the customers to get interested in. I have learnt about CAD which is known as Computer Aided Design and CAM which is known as Computer Aided Manufacture. I have come across with a new term 'Corporate Identity' and this is when a company produces products, and they use their company's name as trademark. I have also learnt more about different types of hardware's and software's. Other than Microsoft Word, and Publisher I have also learnt to use Adobe Photoshop which I used to do my design for the package in and 2D Design and I used this to draw up the net for my package. I have found what which software is best for which work. I have also used different hardware in different stages of my work. I have used digital cameras to take pictures of my product for the section on 'Design and Development'. I have also used printers, scanners, and CAMM-1 and CAMM-2. I have also learnt about different types of materials and which materials are best for which product. I have also learnt the different units of measuring different materials. I found out more about what is commercial printing. I have come across with different types of recycling symbols and now know what each of the symbols mean and which symbol is

Produce a new look for a website.

3.1.2 Formal Report The problem that was in need of solving was to produce a new look for wow.com to target the 17 to 25 year olds. The look that the company were trying to aim for was young, energetic, dynamic and flexible. I firstly set out by comparing some current documents such as flyers, letters and invoices. This helped me as I could gather the best parts from these documents and use them to give me ideas to create new ones. The documents that I selected had to be 3 of a kind that were from three companies with two of a flyer and a letter. I the started off by researching and designing a logo for the new look wow.com. I produced four prototypes of the logo and selected the best one that I felt had got the right look that I wanted. The final design included two people which I felt really stood out from the rest of the designs. The next task was to design the letterhead to update the old style into the new look. I used the documents that I collected at the beginning to give me ideas on how to design it. These where then used as templates for my design, my design for the letterhead was pretty simple as I felt that I didn't want to overcrowd the sheet. I then brought an example of a staff newsletter and used it to get some ideas from. I then went about designing the staff newsletter for wow.com. It contained four pages which included a front cover, two article pages

The Future of Graphic Arts I. Introduction The role of a graphic designer can be seen as wide ranging and adaptable

The Future of Graphic Arts I. Introduction The role of a graphic designer can be seen as wide ranging and adaptable, the influence can extend from that on the direct client, to in some cases, society in general. Graphic design is not a new art form. We can argue that as long as there has been art there has been graphic design. However, for many decades, and even centuries, the term graphic designer was not applied to the practices if this art form. The term graphic designer was first used at the beginning of the twentieth century, and it is this era that can be seen to mark the beginning of the modern era of graphic design. It was in 1922 that first printed reference to this term can be found (WebCT, 2002). Since that time there have been many changes, social, political and technological, all of which have effected the perception of graphic design and the way it is both created and perceived. To understand where the art form may go in the future and how it could develop we need to look at the past. This is form this we will get a 'feel' of the sector and see how patterns emerge that reflect and art reflected by the different broader environmental aspects of modern life. II. The Early Twentieth Century This is not the beginning of graphic art, indeed there is a plethora of advertisements form the Victorian era that ay be seen as accomplished graphic art, with a history

Logo Write-up

Logo Write-up As I had already decided on a name for my company, I decided that my company needed an emblem or a LOGO. This logo will be used as a letterhead and for marketing purposes, a symbol that will represent the company. I feel that a logo should either show the name of the company, or a company slogan and a picture that demonstrates the aim of the company. My company, Football Nation, is a sports company that sells Premier Division Football shirts. I feel that my logo must tell people what type of company it is, and the name of my company. My company is a sports company mainly appealing to the youth of the nation. The company name, Football Nation, indicates that we as a country are obviously predominately a football nation. It tells people who do not currently reside in the country that they can buy English football products. As football can be very exciting at times, the logo for my company should maybe represent the flare and enjoyment that the game brings to us. I feel that either a football or a football shirt should appear in the logo. I have researched some logos of other sports companies to see how they present their company. Here is the logo for the huge sports company JJB: As you can see the logo says the name of the company in big bold letters. There is no need for a picture or any fancy logos. The logo is simple and effective. The name of the company

The venture of which I am going to promote is Tamworth Town. Tamworth is not a very big town and not a lot of people know about it and its attractions.

IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM The venture of which I am going to promote is Tamworth Town. Tamworth is not a very big town and not a lot of people know about it and its attractions. The town is an exciting town as it has a very good historical background. It also has Leisure and shopping facilities for the younger and older generation to enjoy. When I promote this town I will be aiming at the older generation and families in Europe. I will aim at the older people because they will be more interested in the history of the town but I am also aiming at families because Tamworth has more attractions that will appeal to families other than just the historical castle, it has theme parks and leisure centres as well. For my promotion I will produce a brochure to be displayed in holiday making shops, tourist information centres and to be posted to random streets in local newspapers and magazines over Europe. I will need to produce my brochure at an appropriate size and think about the colours that I use to cut down the printing costs. However I will need to make my brochure colourful and attractive so that pertencial tourists notice it but I must not create it to my liking of colours and design because it may not appeal to some people, as they may not like the colours that I like. To make my attraction seem good I will have to display pictures of venues around the town and also of the

Implementing Design in Microsoft word.

Implementing Design From looking at Version 1 of my publication you can see how the Design section of this project is being used. I chose design 3 in my designing section and in this sketch I used circular frames for the pictures rather than the normal square or rectangular shapes. In Version 1 you will see evidence of this idea. The picture on the second page was originally in a square frame. I found this by clicking on the Insert menu, and then Picture and then by clicking on Clip Art. I then clicked on the Find button to look for a suitable picture for my publication. I typed in Drama as this is about a performing arts school/college. The file came up with many pictures including those on the front and the centre of Version 1. After inserting the pictures and positioning them, I clicked on the one on page two-three and pressed Copy button which has a picture of two sheets of paper. I then minimised the document and opened another file to paste my picture into. I then selected the picture and drew a circular shape around it and then pressed Crop. After doing this, I now had a circular picture rather than a square one and I Cut and Pasted this new picture into my publication and positioned how I liked. The picture on the front page was inserted and then resized to fit the page. This was done easily by selecting the picture and placing the cursor on a corner of its frame

Alternative evidence for features of the presentation

Alternative evidence for features of the presentation (implementation) I opened my program - Microsoft powerpoint, as it is most suitable for a touch screen presentation. I thin opened a blank PowerPoint. First off all I made a selection on the design of the slide wanted. I did not choose any of the design instead I made my own design. This is because the slide design did not refer to my hand drawn design. This is when I had selected my background and I was applying it to all the slides. I am going to explain too you now how I made the links between the pages I will also be explaining how I have made the video appear on the touch screen show. First of all I will be telling you about how I came over the idea on linking all the pages of the touch screen show. How I link the title to the contents page I had to right click on the font and then click on open hyperlink this will take me to the contents page with out going on view slide if I want to make any adjustments. This also helped me tests my hyperlinks. To make the hyper To make the hyperlink I hade to right click and then click on hyperlink this will then, produce a popup. This menu will appear I then had to click on theicon. After this I also had to select which slide to click on. It will be the second slide as; this is where the content page is. For each of the contents titles had to make a link to go to
