The Elephant Man

(John Merrick)

As an individual and viewer of the movie, The Elephant Man, I can elaborate that taking care of John Merrick by Dr. Treves was completely an ethical act. Dr. Treves fought for his rights, he wanted him to be accepted as a human being not the elephant man and was trying to explain it to people that his appearance was only due to genetic deformity not genetic inheritance from an elephant. Dr. Treves settled him down in the London hospital where he gives him a permanent room and the nurses specially the Matron and Nora were taking his care. He also took John to his house where his wife unlike other ladies who were freaking out seeing him, shake hand with him and warmly welcomed him showing that there are still warm-hearted people in this world who care about you and people like you.
