Some people and the vivisectors believe vivisection is necessary, because it helps and improve medication and other produces for humans. Also it can save people from death or accidents.
They argue that testing on animals can help with the cure for cancer, and other large diseases or problems in the world for humans.
They also make a point on the lives they have saved with animal testing. Lives from cancer have been saved, accidents which could have been fatal were avoided.
However there is a side which is against vivisection. Here are
the people who are against vivisection, with a few of their
points.
Animal experimentation is said to be necessary for the welfare
and health of humans. This is simply not true less than 2% (1.16%) of human illnesses are ever seen in animals.
- When asked doctors agreed that animal experiments can be misleading because of anatomical and physiological differences between animals and humans.
- Rats are 37% effective in identifying what causes cancer in humans. (Vivisectors don’t have a clue and flipping a coin would be more useful).
- According to animal tests lemon juice is a deadly poison but arsenic, hemlock and botulin are safe.
- 95% of drugs passed by animal tests are immediately discarded as useless or dangerous to humans
- One in six patients in hospital is there because the drug they have taken was not safe for human use.
- 40% of patients suffer side effects as a result of animal testing.
- Thousands of drugs passed safely in animal testing have been banned due to their side effects on humans. So is it really safe to use animals for testing? What is the point of harming and being cruel when there are other reliable ways?
Furthermore there are at least 450 methods which exist which we can replace with the animal experiments.
Also if you were to follow and believe in the results of animal testing you would believe that:
- Humans don’t need Vitamin C
- Smoking does not cause cancer
- Alcohol does not cause liver damage
What do you think about:
- 33 animals die worldwide every second
- 1 animal dies every 4 seconds in the UK
- In the UK:
Every 10 minutes a rabbit dies
Every 6 seconds a mouse dies
Every 5 hours a cat dies
Every 68 minutes a dog dies
Every 2 hours a monkey dies
Every 4 minutes a bird dies
Every 3 minutes a fish dies
- Rats and mice are bred for the purpose of laboratory research.
- 2001 – Altogether 105,515 animals died involving pain, distress and no pain relief in the UK.
After looking at the difference in the sides of the arguments, and the evidence for them. I am on the against side for vivisection.
The reasons I have decided this are because animal testing is cruel and unfair, to all animals. It was, has, is and never will be reliable. It never should have been made so animals have to go through all the pain for nothing.
Some people think you’re ”soft“ if you care about animals but what’s ”soft“ about wanting to stop this?
- Animals are blinded, scaled, electrocuted, paralysed, burned, maimed, driven mad, turned into drug addicts, and given diseases in animal testing.
- Animals are used to test a whole range of substances, such as weed killers, tobacco, cosmetics, polishes, hairsprays and drugs.
- Dogs are poisoned to death to test the ”lethal dosage“ of such products as oven cleaners. These are force feed or injected with enough products to kill 50% of the animal.
- ANIMALS SUFFER WITHOUT REASON.
Can I ask you does a man learn anything – except how to be inhumane by being cruel to animals.
Do politicians and leaders become noble and wise by completely disregarding the interests of lower animals when lower animals can feel so much suffering and pain?
I ask that your charity stops supporting these abominations of animal experimentations.
A charity is a wonderful thing, offering goodness but when a charity supports such awful experiments – when a charity offers donations to help scientists cause suffering to animals – it ceases to be a charity.
This is my final view of vivisection, I know that people have their own view on the subject, but can I ask you to look at what you are saying, doing and supporting.
