dagger in his hand. The knife must have penetrated the serwagers side becuse the
water around me gew red. The serwager let go of my leg and Flip jerkeed me
towards the surface. It wasn't until Flip jerked me toward the surface that I realized
how much my lungs were screaming for air. I surfaced and took sevaral deep
breaths. Flip who had surfaced before me was gasping. "Good, clean air" Flip
commented. "I owe you one" I said.
The serwager surfaced a good three minutes after we had. So Flip and I decided
that running was not a option since the serwager could easily outrun me or Flip. So
we decided to out smart it. The sesrwagers side had a terrififc gash on it's side.
The serwager charged at me and at the very last minute I swam to the side and the
serwager turned and charged again. Flip must have gotten pretty tired of waiting for
the serwager to come at him because he hurtled himself at the serwager. The
serwager stopped and seemed confused. But not confused enough to open up his
mouth. There Flip was hurtling himself right into a serwagers open mouth. Bbut he
didn't go into the serwagers mouth instead he went over the serwagers mouth and
onto the serwager back, backwards. The serwager not liking the idea of having
someone riding on it's back tried to buck Flip off it's back. I figured I had to do
something other then watch my best freind get bucked off the back of a serwager
and more then likily get devored. So I kicked the serwager as hard as I could in it's
jaw. Their was a snapping sound like twigs braking. The serwagers jaw was
broken. The serwager no longer cared about Flip. It only cared about getting to
shore. So the serwager swam as fast as it could to shore. Flip slid off it's back.
But before it left us it gave me a hack accrosed the face. That whack sent me into
unconsionises.
I awoke to the smell of wine and strawberrys. Flip was sitting next to me eating
strawberrys and sipping blackberry wine. I guessed it was near midnight and that I
was sleeping over at Flip's house. My parents must be worried sick about me I
thought to myself. "I told your parent you were sleeping over at my house tonight"
Flip said, as if he were reading my mind. "What am I doing here?" I asked. "Yo got
whomped accrosed the head by a serwagers tail" Flip said. "Don't you
remember?" he asked. I remembered Flip and I went into the swamp after a couple
of serwager eggs. Bu nothing abou getting whomed accrssed the head. "No" All I
remember is going into the swmp with you and stealing couple of eggs from a rock
in the middle of a swamp" I replied. "Where's the eggs are they all right?" I asked.
Flip smilled and held up a pouch. "Only one of the eggs survied. And that one is
yours. Mine got cracked when I saved your life. So I figured since saved your life
you'd be willing to share it" Flip replied. "Yeah, I guess I could share it" I replied. My
stomach growled and it was only hen that Flip reilized how hungrey I must be having
had no dinner. "Want something to eat?" Flip asked. I nodded glad that Flip had
asked that question. As I ate we tried to think up an excuse on why we missed the
last two classes. "I've got one" Flip said. "Lets hear it" I said, taking a sip of a cup
of blackberry wine. "How about we say that we missed class because we go sick
from the food we ate for lunch" Flip said. "We've used that one ten times already" I
said. "How about we say we got allgys from the flowers?" Flip said. "There aren't
any more flower this time of year" I said. "And besides we've already used that
excuse a million times" I said. "I've got it",Flip shouted,"were going to run away.
CHAPTER 2
I have no idea on what compeles Flip to bring up outrages ideas. "You must be
insaine" I shouted. "Shhh, not so loud. My parents are still alsleep and there not
morning people" Flip said.
"Lets say we did get out of the villiage where would we go?" I asked. "We would go
to Wertfig" Flip replied. "What would we do for money?" I asked. "We would sell
our egg" Flip replied. "Werfig is a long way off and we don't even know the way" I
said. "It's only a few days away and I've got a map on how to get Wertfig" Flip said.
"What about our parents. They will be worried sick about us" I said. "We would only
be gone for a short while" Flip said. "How short?" I asked. "Only a month or so"
Flip said. "When are you going to go?" I asked. "Ths afternoon. If you want to
come meet me outside my window" Flip said. "Well only be gone for a month,
right?" I asked. "Thats right" Flip replied. "I guess I'll go then, I guess" I said.
I ran home to get my life savings, fifty whole maskins. When I reached Flip's
house Flip was already waiting outside for me. We walked to Bith's shop. When
we reached Bith's shop we walked inside. Bith's shop had just about everything. I
bought some spindle fruit, dried termites, dried grasshoppers, pears, apples, wine,
hunney, fahji fruit, butter and three latterns. As I was buying my food for the trip
something caught my eye. I walked over to the item that was hanging on a shelf
along with a few others. It was the most beutiful sword I'd never seen. I looked at
the price tag. It costed twenty maskins. I took the sword out of its sheath. Flip also
started taking one off the shelf. I added the sword to the rest of my items on the
counter. When he added up the total on pad of paper it came out to be forty
maskins. Flip plucked a five maskin piece from my hand. "Hey" I objected. "You
owe me for that waterproof pouch" Flip said. I waited outside for Flip. I put my
sword on my belt. When Flip came out he wore a sword too.
Flip walked back to his house. I had to run home to get my rucksack. When I got
my rucksack I ran to Flip's house. I packed my food in my rucksack and had begun
writing a letter to tell my parents that I was fine and all.
Dear mom and dad,
Flip and I are running away for a month.
Don't worry about me. I'll be back in a
months time.
Love, Tiuertere
When I had finished writing my letter I walked back to my house and put it in a
obveuse place that they would see it at. Then I sat n my floor trying to deside which
of my many things I should take with me. I had finished writing my letter I walked
back to my house and put it in a obveuse
place that they would see it at. Then I sat n my floor trying to deside which of my
many things I should take with me. At the end I decided to take a stuffed seahtatha
whuch I'd
recieved as a present for
my forth bithrthrday and it always seemed like when ever I held it something good
always
happend. When I left my house it was near afernoon. Flip was waiting for me
outside his window, reading a map. "We'll have to head due east for eight hours"
Flip stated. "Lets get started then" I said.
When Flip and I had walked for about three hours we stopped for a break. I took
a piece of fruit out of my rucksack. After we'd taken a break we begain walking
again. "I figure it should take us about another ten hours to reach Wertfig if we take
some short cuts accrossed some swamps" Flip said. "Thats better then three days"
I said. We should turn left at this pass Flip said. Pointing up ahead.
When we turned we found that there was a huge swamp in our path. "Was this part
of your shortcut?" I asked. "Looks like" Flip replied. "There's a canoe in the middle
of the swamp" Flip said, pointing to a canoe. "How are we going to get to it
though?" I asked. Flip sat down on a log frustrated. A minute later he shouted, "I've
got it." And he got up and took a piece of rope out of his rucksack. He then begain
tying it to a branch of a tree hanging over the swamp. After he had finished he
tested his weight on the rope with a few sharp jerks. The rope held. Suddenly I
understude what Flip was dueing. I gave Flip a push and he went out on to the
swamp. But the push wasn't hard enough and Flip came back. I gave Flip another
harder push. This time he made it close enough to the canoe to let go of the rope.
He made a tremendus splash when he hit the water. He swam over to the canoe
and got in. I climbed on the rop next and got a runnng head start and flew near
enough to the canoe to let go. I hit the water and swam over to the canoe and
climbed over the side of the canoe with Fip helping me.
We walked for many many more hours until we came to a
bridge. There was a old sorm guarding the bridge. "It'll cost you a fifth of a maskin
a piece to cross my bridge" the sorm said. Not oneting to get in a fight with a sorm,
even a old one, I handed over the money and he let us pass. On the other side of
the bridge there was a hill and soon as I walked accrosed the bridge I saw in the
distance Wertfig.
Flip and Mary saw Wertfig too. And all three of us begain running down the hill.
"Your buying drinks in Wertfig" Flip said, while running. "Why do I have to buy
drinks?" I asked. "Bbecause I saved your life" Flip said. That was a good reason.
As time went on Wertfig became closer and closer and closer until we were
inside Wertfig. We cheked into a cheap hotel first and then we desided to get
something to drink. So we stopped in a bar. As we left the bar I noticed a sign on
the side of the road. It read, "Aution to be held here. Road will be closed this day. It
said a date that the aution a to be held on and the address of here the autoner lived.
Flip also saw the sign. "That would be a good way to sell our egg" Flip commented.
I nodded. So we went looking for the autioners house. When we found the
autioners house it was dark. Flip knocked on the door and a short pugdy dark
haried man opened the door. "How may I help you?" the man asked. "We would
like to aution off a egg" Flip said. "Well come in then" the man said. We walked
into a big living rm where we sat down. "Lets see what egg you've got" the autioner
said. I set down my rucksack and rumaged through it. When I found the pouch I
handed it to the pudgy man. "What are your names?" the pudgy man asked, as he
oend up the pouch. "I'm Gith this is Flip." I said. "My names
Ggargare" Gagargare said as he inspected a egg. "You've got a serwager egg"
Ggargare said. "We know. I stoal it from a serwagers nest" I said. Ggargare
nodded. "You realize that I'll get five percent of the profit" Gagargare said. Flip and
I nodded. "And I'll have to keep it here over night" he said. Flip and I nodded again.
When we left Ggargares called after us "Don't forget the autions tommorow."
When we made it to the hotel that we were staying at it was near midnight. I went to
bed instantly that night.
I woke up late the next morning. When I finished eating breakfast I went over to
Flip's room. Flip was already up and we rushed out of the hotel. When we arrived
are egg was just getting bid on. The bidding was over are egg sold for five hundred
maskins. After the aution was over we went to where creatures were paying for the
stuff they got. The autioner waved us over to him. "Congradulations, your egg sold
for more then any other thing at this aution" Ggargares said. "The seath who bought
your egg paid me and I've already taken the five percent out of the amount that you
made" he said. Flip and I decided to go to a bar to celebrate. We never drank to
much. Two mabye three glasses of wine was all my system could handle. That was
one thing that Flip's and my parents had taught us to know your limets, especily
when it came to drinking. We entered a bar that looked ike it had had more then its
share of fights. There were knife slashes on almost everone of the seats. And not
to mention the stink of smoke and alchohol was almost unbearable. Flip and I would
have left if it there if there wasn't a heavily musciled rethesrser blocking our path and
a even more heavily musliciled btheatha blocking our way to the seats. "You little
punks better find a different place. They serve drinks to babys" the btheatha, said
giveing me a push forward into his jerk of a buddy. "Were not going to a different
bar" I said, to my own surprise. "I think there trying to start a fight don't you"
rethesrser said. "I think they are to. Come on you little punks. You want to fight" the
btheatha. Remember what Mr. Sarcroth taught me at school, "When you out musled
consintrate on speed", Mr. Sarcroth's words tumbled through my mind. I punched
out aiming for the btheathas face. My punch came out so fast and so strong that my
opponite didn't have time to react. My punch conected with his chin and he fell down
face forward. "You knocked Lumpy out cold" the rethesrser said. I shrugged and
found we found a seat. When me and Flip were seated a seath came walking up to
us. Seaths are very rare to see so I figured he must have been the one who had
bought are egg. "So your the one who bought are egg" I said. "Yes I'm the one. I
was impressed by your display back there and was wondering wether or not you
would not like to do some work for me?" the seath asked. "What kind of work are
you talking about?" Flip asked. "Smuggling" the seath replied. I looked at the seath
in shock. Had I heard him right. Did he just say smuggling. Anytime any creature in
this world talks about smuggling he's not talking about smuggling drugs he's talking
about smugging items out of the shormearnes land. The shormearnes had a lot of
powerful battle stuff. But they would not let any creature that wasn't a shotmearnes
take it. The penilty for smuggling or helping a smuggler was death. "Where is the
battle stuff kept at?" Flip asked. I stared at Flip opened mouthed. Did Flip have a
death wish. "In a cavern. You'll be able to tell where it is because it's heavily
guarded" the seath said. "You must take along one of my men to make sure you
don't take off with all the loot" the seath said drawing a knife. "Otherwise your
expendilbe"
The seath had told us that the one of men would meet us outside our hotel room
early the next morning. He had also told us not to go leaving Wertfig or else he
would find us and kill us. Flip and I stopped in a battle shop and I bought some
posine and some nija stars to dip in the posine, well Flip bought potions.
When I went into my hotel room later that night I set to work dipping my nija stars into
the posine. when I was done I had a few left over so I praticed throwing the few that I
had left. It was near midnight when I went to sleep. I awoke to the sound of the
venders sounding there sales pitch. Flip was pounding on my door shouting that we
had to go. I reluctintly got up and opened up the door to my hotel room. "I'm up. I'm
up." I said. Flip was standing next to a teenage human of about my age. "Who's the
teenager?" I asked. "This is the man that the seath said he would send along with
us" Flip replied. "Hi, im Worth" Worth said. "Worth?" I asked. "It's a funny name I
know but you'll get used to it. "My master, the said to get started early on this
mission" Worth said. "I've got to get my things first" I said. I gathered my
belongings and started walking with Worth and Flip who was talking to Flip as if he'd
known him for all his life instead of just a few hours.
When we were outside Wertfig I smelled something. It smelled like sausges and
indeed it was. There was a hag selling seling sausage heaed with onions and
mustard on top. I bought one since I had not eaten any breakfast. It tasted deliuises
despite it's appearence. After I had finished eating my sausage I noticed that we
were walking through a field of corn. The sausage had tasted so good that I hadn't
noticed it until now. "When we were about half way to the ends of the cornfield I
noticed that almost all the corn we walked past was dead. There could be only one
answer to that there must be, somewhere, a shete. A shete looked like a giant
beatle. It could grow up to three feet long in it first stage and in it's second stage of
it's life it could grow twice as long. In order to get out of it's first stage it would have
to eat a lot. One of those could eat a whole field of corn. It also had something very
vaubule venom. Excacly where the corn stopped growing there the shete was
sucking the juice out of the corn. It gave us a warning hiss. I threw a nija star at the
shete. It hit it's mark. But rather then killing the creature instantly it ony seemed to
fuel the creature. It sprang at me its mouth opened wide. I sprang back but the
shetes mouth still manged to tear a chunck of flesh off my arm. It swalowed the flesh
whole. The place where the shete had manged to bite me burned. The bite didn't
burn so much as the posine that was seeping into my veins. The shete lunged at me
again. But the posine had finaly taken effect. It stagard for a moment then fell. The
venom was working it's effects on me. I stagard for a moment then fell.
I was walking in a dark dark cavern. It seemed like forever. I made it to the end of
the cavern and there standing before me was a statue. The statue burst open
reaviling a evil looking shormearneington. I woke up and realized that it was only a
dream. Flip was smiling down at me. "He's up" Flip shouted to Worth. "Here drink
this" Worth ordered. "What is it?" I asked weakily. My vision was becoming very
weak. "Its a antidote. Come on drink up" Worth said. I took the antidote and drank
it. Rather sloppily though because my body was becoming very weak. Then I went
back to sleep.
I awoke feeling well enough to get up. And thats just what I did. It felt like I had
been asleep for days. Which is what I had been doing. Worth complined about
being being behind schelodule.
"Thanks a lot for saving my life" I said to Worth. "No probelm" Worth said. Once we
were on the road again we started walking. I'd just found out that Flip and Worth
took turns carrying me when I'd been asleep for all those days. "That venom reallly
had you out" Flip said. "Nothing would wake you. I even tried shouting in your ears"
he said. "How did you make that anti-veniom?" I asked. "I don't know. I just wanted
to make your friend have hope in his heart. Mabye Jesus guided me" Worth said.
"You mean you didn't know how to make a anti-veniom? You just wanted me to
have hope" Flip said. "I thought you were as good as gone" Worth admitted to me.
"I'm starving" I said. I pulled a piece of fruit from my rucksack. The mositer of
tuched my lips as I sank my teeth into it. I finished the fruit in a few short bites and
reached in my bag for another piece. I opened a bottle of wine and drank deeply
from it well still walking. After a few more pieces of fruit and a few more gulps of
wine I was finished. "What would give for a piece of cherry pie" I said. "Yeah. With
cream on top" Flip said. We walked for many hours. Until we came to a lake. The
lake had a erie silence around it. When the silence was broken by a frog jumping
out of the lake it was a relief. The reason why the frog had jumped out of the water
was because a --------- was coming out of the water. He stood there looking at us.
"You want to pass by this lake don't you?" the -------- said. All three of us nodded.
"In order to get past me you must pass three tests" the ------ said. "What kind of
test?" I asked, the ------- looked to be about thirty years old. "I can't tell you. It is an
order" the ------- said. "Orders from who?" Flip asked. "From the King of -------------.
I shrugged. "Do you agree to my request?" the --------- asked. "Come on. How
hard can it be?" I said. "Good then you must catch me" the --------- said. "Just me or
can my friends help me?" I asked. "It doesn't matter" he said. Then he was gone.
He reappeared behind me. I made a grab for him. He ducked. Then bolted up a
tree. He sat there at the top waiting for me to come and get him. Flip, Worth and
me climbed up the tree.
I got ten scratches from twigs on the tree and twice as many cuts. But I'd finally
made it to the top of the tree. "Now I've got you" I said. Flip and Worth climbed up
beside me. The -------- got up and before I could catch him he leaped down the tree
branch after branch. Flip leaped down after him. He pulled himself out of his
suicidle plundge by grabing onto a branch near the bottom of the tree. It was a
miricle his arms didn't come off. But I did hear a craking noise. Except it wasn't his
arms it was the branch. The momentem when Flip grabbed onto the branch had not
ripped off his arms but it was ripping the branch off the tree. Flip and the branch fell
like a pill of stones. There was a tremendues crash when Flip hit the ground. I
climbed down the tree. There underneath Flip was the -------. He was alive along
with Flip. "Flip you caught the -------" I shouted. "That hurt" Flip complained. "You
caught me" the ------- said, his tone was flat. "The second test will be to go hunting
for a grraerwar with me" the said. A grraerwar is a small seminly defenlise animal.
It eats meat. It will act injured and when another preditor comes up to the grraerwar
to kilI it. The grraerwar will leap for the animals throat and kill the other preaditor
with it's razer like fangs. Some preaditors knew the grraerwars tactics, though.
The ----------- jumped up and ran into the woods. We ran after him. When we caught
up to the --------- he stopped. He sniffed the air. "Grraewar this way" he said, then
bolted off into the forest. We ran aftter him. The ------- stopped. He nelt down on the
ground and saw a trail of blood. A preaditor must have wounded the grraerwar I
thought to myself. The blood trail stopped at a bush. There liying on the ground was
a grraerwar. He was bleeding. The --------- knelt beside the bleeding creature.
"What are you doing?" I asked, in surprise. "I am helping this wounded creature"
the replied. "Why not just kill it?" I asked. "There would be no sport in killling a
wounded creature" he said. "It would have killed you. If you would have been
wounded" I said. "That is true. But this creature would have reacted on instinct and
most creatures have almost no fellings. I do" he said. I thought about it well he
doctred the creatures wounds. It made sence. "That is the way God made all
animals. He made them rely on instinct not fellings" the --------- said. There was a
long pause. Nethier Flip nor I believed that there was a God. The long silence was
broken by the -------- saying, "You may pass around my lake now" then he walked off
into the woods. We walked back to the lake. It was a long way around the lake. As
we walked around the lake I thought to myself is there really a God. I gave the idea
up when I thought, "What kind of a God would let his creatures die."
No longer was the sun burning brightly. It was hidden behind some clouds and
just tiny whisps of the sun were showing through the clouds. It was getting very cold.
I crossed my arms acrossed my chest and stood there watching a cloud crossing
acrossed the sky. For a moment I wished I could be like one of them. They looked
so carefree. The wind wipped at my face. I looked at a reflection of myself in a pool
of water. My hair had grown longer, on my head and on my legs. The wind tossed
some of the water out of the tiny pool. We would have a storm coming up. I was
sure of it. No longer then I thought this the sky opened up and cold wet rain poured
down on the trees. Then when the trees could no longer bear the weight of all of the
water it was reciving the water streamed down the branches. Onto me and my
compaines. We rushed along a path hoping to find a house that could shelter us.
Further up the path there was a house. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a shabby
place. But it sheltered us. There was a fire place that we could use for warmth and
it had some torn pieces of blanket. We made are selfs as comfortable as possible
and went to sleep.
I awoke a short while later to the sound of humming. I sat up and saw that there
was a old female seath sitting down in a rocking chair. I nudged the others and they
woke up. They to saw the female. I've been waitng for you young folks to get up" the
old female said. "Well leave if" I said, as I got up. "No. Stay." the old seath said
sharply. I stared at her. "What I mean is I like company. What are your names?" the
seath asked. "My names Gith, and this is Flip and thats worth" I replied. "My names
Funia. Now you must be starved" the seath. "Then come and have some tea and
cakes" the old seath said. The seath seemed remarkimbly well for a old seath.
When we sat down for tea and cake the cakes and the tea tasted strange. I was
getting drowsy. I felt like staying in the old shabby house forever. It must have been
some kind of trick. She must have put something in the tea and cakes. I passed a
note to Flip and Worth telling them not to eat any more of the tea and cakes. When
they read the letters they stared at me. "Have some more" the old seath said. "Oh,
no. Were much to full to eat any more" I said. "You must have some more. You
look weak" the Fuina said. Deciding that I'd better take some more before she lost
her head I took some more. I hid most of them in the cracks in the floor and Flip and
Worth did the same. "Do you like it here?" the old seath asked. "No" I said.
"And neither do my friends" I said. The seath muttered something to herself. "I'll go
get some more cakes. Then mabye you'll like it here" she said. "I doubt it" I said.
She went to go some more anyway. "Lets leave. She put somethng in those
cakes" I said. "I tasted it to" Flip said. We snuck quiteily out of the house. As soon
as we made it out the door the seath peeked her head out the door. "What are yo
doing?" she asked. All three of us froze at the same time. "We came out to get
some fresh air" I replied. "Well don't wonder to far" the seath said. "We won't" I
said. "When she left to tend to the cakes we bolted. I ran like I never had before. I
ran so hard that I thought my lungs were going to pop. When we were a good ten
miles from her house we stopped running. I collapsed. We all collapsed. Panting
for breath I lay on the ground. "That woman must not get very much company" I
commented. "Yes. She must not. Why else would she have spiked our food and
drink with stuff" Worth agreed. "She could be a witch" a voice form behind said. I
jumped up sword pointed at the creatures throat. "Ain't a creature aloud to express
his oppions?" th creature asked. "Whats your name?" I asked. "Wellser" the
creature replied. "And what sort of creature are you?" I asked. "I can't tell you what I
don't know. But I know what sort of creature you are. Your a satry. The one who will
bring the stone one back from the dead" Wellser said. "What are you talking
about?" I asked. Wellser gave me a nasty grin. "That would be telling" he said. I
lowered my sword from the creatures throat. "I was told you would be coming this
way" Wellser said. "By who?" I asked. "That would be telling" the creature said. "I
could use some food. I'll tell you about the witch of these woods if you feed me"
Wellser said. "You mean that weird seath we ran into?" I asked. "That would-"
"Be telling. I know" I said. We feed the strange little creature. "Now tell us about the
witch" I said afrer he'd eaten. He cleared his throat. "The witch is the seath that you
ran into. She enered these woods five years ago. All of us who live in the woods
are scared of her for the simple reason that each and every day she goes off into
the woods and kills one of us who lives in the woods. No one knows what she does
with the creatures she kills " Willser said. "Seath's are meat eaters. They hunt and
kill and eat the creature they kill. Seath's need meat to live" I said. "So you mean
she's not a witch?" Willser said. "Yes. Thats excacly what I mean" I relplied. "Oh. I
guess thats okay then" Willser said. "Do you know how to get to the ------------ land?"
I asked. "Yes I have been there before. You go down the path to your left" Wellser
said. "Come and vist me again" Wellser said. Before I could say goodbye to
Wellser he was gone. "That was strange" I said.
We walked a long way down the path until we came to a sign that said, "You are
entering the -------------- land. Smugglers will be prosicuted." "Were finally here"
Worth said. "Yes" I agreed. So we walked on until we came to a stream. We
stopped for a rest. Flip fashined a fishing pole from a stick and a piece of string.
Well Flip went fishing I went looking for crawfish and shellfish. I turned over rocks
and stiried up mud looking for crawfish and shellfish. I felt a pinch on my toe and
saw that there was a crawfish pinching my toe. I plucked the crawfish out of the
water and dropped it in a pouch and then continued on. Worth mean will was
catching a fiddle crabs on the side of the stream. I had ten shellfish and five
crawfish. I dumped them in a pot that Worth had set out to put our catchs in. Worth
had ten fiddler crabs. He put them in the pot to. Flip was fishing still. We filled the
bucket with water then we built a fire. I set the pot over the fire for thirty minutes.
Flip was done fishing. He had caught two good sized fish and had begun gutting
them. Worth and I were picking the meat out of the assortment of diffrent crabs and
shellfish. When were finsihed we dropped the meat in the pot and Flip dumped his
fish in the pot we added varies other ingrediants. We set the pot over the fire and
waited. When it was done it tasted fabulous. After we were done we lay in the
grass. A fiddler crab came up to me and pinched my ear. I flicked it away.
When we begain moving again we didn't talk. We just walked. Until the silence
was broken by a sigh. It came from Worth. "What's wrong?" Flip asked. "Oh
nothing. I was just thinking" Worth said. "About what?" Flip asked. "Arn't I aloud to
think?" Worth said. It seemed as if all of us weren't walking together. It seemed like
each of us were walking by ourselfs. Though we weren't. Now it was my turn to
sigh.
When we made to the only city in the land of ------------ it was midnight. We were
tired and cold. We went to a hotel and asked for a room. The man gave us our keys
to our rooms. I fell asleep as soon as I steeped into my room.
