Task; It’s your birthday your friends are playing a trick and have blindfolded you. Describe what you touch, taste, hear and smell. Then reveal what you are leading to.

Through the corner of my eye, a beautiful stream of light came, illuminating the sky while the moon’s bright shadow was shimmering on the rolling water. I knew where we were even though it was supposed to be a surprise. It was obvious.

While running my fingers through the cool, crumbly sand I could hear the quiet yell of the ocean. My friends and family were having the time of their lives- the men getting drunk, the women bickering about the latest gossip and the children running around insane. Then there was me just sitting on the beach taking in the strong salty smell that lingers in my mouth despite listening to the waves as if it was a piece of soft harmonic music.

My stomach was full up from just one piece of Red Velvet cake it was delightful, scrumptious and yummy. The best food I had in all my life, no wonder everyone was so hyperactive. I could hear the seagulls swooping overhead and the strong scent of sun screen surrounding the beach. Nevertheless children were starting to giggle when their sand castles are overtaken by the shore.

It was a long drive to somewhere, I was clueless- questions kept popping up in my mind but mostly though excitement filled through me. Then when we had stopped my mum came and pulled my shoes off, I knew we weren’t going swimming so where else would we go? However later, I could feel the cold swift breeze brush my hair onto my face and the loud, cheesy music thumping in my ear nevertheless I could smell a range of pungent smells evolving everywhere in my surroundings. One of the things I found peculiar was the sound of a cry, at first I thought it was a baby but then as I sneaked a look through the corner of my eye I saw seagulls joyfully flying in the sky. Where else would there be seagulls, than a beach? I was walking through something moist and soft, it was prickling all over my feet like tiny particles.

There was smoke coming from the something caressing past my face, it was probably my forgetful father leaving the burgers burning that they were already turning to crust- he always does that. In addition to that I could feel the heat blazing onto my face from a fire which everyone was sitting around, I could hear children squabbling over something .My brother came and stuffed something in my mouth it tasted burnt but very chewy. The little children were playing a game while laughing with happiness and joy.

When my mother finally took off the blindfold, the happy birthday tune was sung by my family and friends. It was terrible completely out of tune, but very sweet. Everyone was so relaxed and happy, it was great to see no one fussing and stressing about something. My beloved aunt was squealing with delight to see that her niece was all grown up nevertheless there was commotion about which present I should open first. Then we all gathered together among family and friends to see fireworks lit up in the sky with a plethora of colours, it looked magnificent.
