A Beautiful mind is set in Princeton 1975 when John Nash arrives on a maths scholarhip determind to come up with an original idea. he doesnt bother with classes.He finds himself in his room trying to come up with a therom he does his by writing on windows. Johns only friend is his room mate Charles. Eventually he comes up with a revolutionary paper that wins him a position at MIT. John doesnt have much of a social life and when he does go out he insists on bringing his work with him. its hear at MIT that Johnh starts to exhibit "abnormal" behaviour, John's twitching becomes more apparent and also his stuttering. John then marries a student called Alicia, he then finds himself apparently doing top-secret code-breaking work for the government. John gets increasingly wrapped up in his government work, and he wants to get out of it when he discovers Alicia is pregnant, Alicia becomes increasingly worried about her husbands mental state and eventually seeks psychiatric help for him, but John is extremely paranoid and reluctant to accept help. Alicia and John are reluctant to accept the diagnosis of schizophrenia. Finally, Alicia goes to the where John believes he has to deposit his government work, only to find an unused building and an letterbox full of John?s unopened letters, and she is assured that the doctor is right.
