Macbeth Essay
In 1606, Shakespeare wrote a famous play called "Macbeth" in which it is still talked about today for its controversial ways. Macbeth and lady Macbeth's relationship deteriorated as the play progressed. During this essay, I intend to discuss the changing relationship between Macbeth and lady Macbeth as the play progresses. This Play is set in Scotland, it was written for James who was supposedly interested in witchcraft, which encouraged Shakespeare into introducing it into the story. The play emphasises greed and ambition and how it can often cooperate an overpowering role in people's lives.
The returning of Macbeth and Banquo opens the play after winning the battle with the Norwegians when the witches stop him and tell him three significant prophecies, which indulge him into being proud and ambitious, which drives him to kill the current King. One of the witches predictions is that he will become king hereafter, this makes him ambitious. This drives him to write a letter to his wife lady Macbeth. This is also the first time Macbeth and lady Macbeth contact each other in the play.
