College Entrance Essay
“Mr. and Mrs. Smith, we’re going to have to do surgery on Betty’s arm. She has a compound fracture and the only way to fix it is to do surgery.” When Dr. Love said those words it changed me in a significant way. For some reason, with her doing the surgery I felt a little more at ease. I never thought that one person could have such a great impact on me.
It all happened so fast. One minute I’m driving out old go-kart and the next I’m laying on my back with it on top of me. Everything seemed to be okay. Nothing hurt, I wasn’t bleeding, and I was just a little shaken. It wasn’t until I looked down when I realized that something was extremely wrong. The pain started and the realization that my arm was broken has finally come to me. Going in and out of shock on the way to the hospital is a feeling too hard to explain. Hearing Dr. Love explain the surgery was one of the scariest things I’ve ever heard.
