Process: Turns input data into different type of data. Storage: A hardware which keeps data safe. Output: Takes out the input data from a computer. The list below shows which hardware's I used: Input: keyboard, mouse and scanner. Process: 3.0 GHZ processor. Storage: 512 MB RAM, USB, 80 GB SATA Hard disk. Output: monitor and printer. This table shows which hardware's I used to complete my coursework. The picture on a monitor is made up of thousands of tiny coloured dots called pixels. The quality and detail of the picture depends on the number of pixels that the monitor can display. The higher the number of pixels, the better quality the output. It is very cheap compared to TFT monitors so people can afford them. It is a bit noisy so for libraries and offices it won't be useful. It can handle a multiple resolution whereas a TFT

Hardware Choices and Operating System.

Hardware Hardware is the physical components that make up a computer. It is something that you can see, feel and physically hold/touch. Some of these components include the monitor, CPU, RAM The picture shows a computer with its main components labelled. Types of hardware In a computer there are four main types of hardware. They are: Input - input is when you enter data into a computer. This includes typing, speaking into a microphone or entering commands. It is something that is entered into a system. Process - this is when data entered into the computer is handled in such a way that it is readable. Processing directs the operation of input and output devices. Storage - on the computer there is a hard drive. This is a storage device. Whatever work done on the computer is stored on to the hard drive. This is known as storage. Storage basically means to store data. On a computer data can be stored in many ways. It can be stored on a CD, a USB flash drive; on the computer's hard drive floppy disk etc. the data stored can be accessed at any time. Output - output is when data is displayed and you can see it or read it etc. for example you can enter some data into the computer such as typing on the keyboard, the monitor will then display to you what you have typed. INTRODUCTION INVESTIGATORS NAME: ALOM UDDIN COMPANY INVESTIGATED: GAME The organisation I have chosen to investigate is Europe's leading specialist retailer of computer software and video games, GAME. They operate from over 500 stores, concessions, and franchises in four territories in Europe. As a specialist, they have certain unique attribute that gives them the edge over their competitors. They are mainly due to: * Their customer friendly policies - in the GAME store, all members of staff are required to be friendly and polite to customers; even to customers that are rude and unpleasant. * Unrivalled product knowledge - the GAME Company has knowledge of all the latest products before their rivals. Especially because the company is the top seller of games and consoles. The manufacturing companies want to sell their products to companies that solely do retail in the visual entertainment department and the games/consoles department. They want companies with these requirements because they don't want other products that do not relate to the product that they are selling. They do not want the customers to be distracted by other items. GAME has met these requirements with ease. * Pre-owned programme - this allows customers to bring in old games or consoles or accessories that they no longer use, but are fully functional, for an exchange for something else. They would be

This data is then also split into two sections, data needed for the creation and data needed for it to run. First of all the data needed for the creation of the system would include the logo, photographs/pictures which are image inputs and there are three devices available to input an image. However, none of this input data can be put through if there is no hardware to do it; therefore hardware is needed to transfer this information into the computer. First of all, you have the choice of a scanner for an image input. The scanner is very good when it comes to things such as transferring images from paper to computer but doesn't help with other things. The scanner can also take up a lot of space in the office and is quite mechanical and may be hard to get used to. The scanner however gives many options for size and quality of the images and can be very useful in many other ways. There is also the choice of the digital camera, which is always very handy. The digital camera is very quick and easy to use, as all you need to do is take a photo of the desired object and then plug it into your computer

Computer Hardware

Unit 3 Assignment 5 Computer Hardware Christopher Perkins User needs The users are anyone interested in purchasing computer hardware. The users need a series of web pages to allow them to explore further which computer hardware they may want to buy. These pages need to be set in out in simple easy to understand language so as not to confuse a new user with too much technical information. My plan I will create seven pages using text and graphics. I will use hypertext links and image hyperlinks to link the pages. My six pages will be: * Main Menu - this will contain the contents of the other pages and links to them. * Input Devices * Output Devices * Storage Devices * Main Processing Unit * Health & Safety - This will contain information on how to use your computer safely. Each Device page will have details of: * The item * The description * An image * An estimated cost Each page will link back to the main menu so that the user can then select the next page to view. I will use the Internet and catalogues to research current prices and find images of each device on my web pages. I will save the images into a folder called "Hardware Pictures" to store the different pictures I need. To save the pictures I will have to right click on the image I want and select save picture as, and name it with a sensible reference, before saving it to my folder. I will

Advanced Higher Computing Project ASHLEY ELIZABETH McLEOD BELMONT ACADEMY, AYR 981867807 Project Proposal What is the background to the project? Young children are encouraged in early primary school years to learn simple mathematic and language skills on a computer. Although prior to this learning they have no previous experience of computing skills. Young children of Pre-School age should be able to use a computer system, but are not given the opportunity to learn the basic skills. Therefore core learning is held back in latter years due to unsatisfactory IT learning in the early stages. What is the nature and extent of the project? I intend to produce a piece of software to enable young children to establish the basic computer skills as a foundation to there IT learning. I shall do this by having two separate learning games, Mouse Movement and Keyboard Skills. In Mouse Movement, the aim is to begin the process of practising using the mouse. My intent is to have a bright screen layout and have, my star of the software, Daffy Duck, introduce the task. This will be presented on the screen in the form of text and also verbally spoken as children of such a young age might not be able to read the text, but will be able to understand vocal communication. The exercise will take the form of six coloured splodges on the screen, Daffy Duck will tell them to click on a
