Technical Documentation.

Technical Documentation The spreadsheet that I have designed and produced was made to allow the user to enter new customers details in, and also new stock items as well. It allows the user to enter and process orders that the company receives from customers, and these orders are processed by using an invoice and a transaction file. Initially the invoice is the form where the order is submitted. This is then confirmed and printed off to give to the customer, whilst the order information is transferred and then saved in the sales transaction file. The spreadsheet I have produced is designed to do all of the above as efficiently as possible. Hardware For this spreadsheet to run to its designed capacity, the following items of hardware are required: * A monitor * A keyboard * A mouse * A PC (anything above a specification of 56mb and 128 bit processor will be sufficient, and it must have a CD-Rom drive installed) Software For this spreadsheet to run accordingly, the following item of software will be required: * Microsoft Office 2000, which includes a spreadsheet programme called Microsoft Excel 2000 * Windows 2000 or Windows XP Installing and Configuring the Spreadsheet * Insert the World of Trainers spreadsheet programme CD into the CD Rom drive * Open the CD by opening 'My Documents' and scrolling down to the correct CD-Rom drive location * Copy the file named

computerised spreadsheet for pupil attendance data

Coursework A Teacher's Class Attendance Register And Mark Book Spreadsheet Project Plan GCSE Information, Communication and Technology 2005 NAME OF STUDENT TABLE OF CONTENTS Identify Analysis Design Implementation Evaluation IDENTIFY My friend's class teacher named Dave has to take a register every day and has to keep marks that students have achieved on a regular basis. Dave finds it very hard to keep all his papers organised, as they tend to overflow and get messy. Because of this it can be an agonising process trying to find a students set of results or attendance marks when they are needed. He recently received a new computer from his Dad as a present. My friends wants me to create a computerised spreadsheet for him whereby he could keep attendance of pupils and their grades and also create graphs out of the information to simplify it. The more primitive way to solve this problem would be to create a more organised and effective manual system, like a folder with various sections in it to identify different pupils and grades that they have. However it is not the ideal way of solving this certain problem as it may prove to be just like his previous method. Another way by which the problem could be solved would be to create a spreadsheet system. The types of software packages I am

Documentation of a database for a sports centre.

Documentation of database Introduction The report is presented to Anna Thomas ("Get Active" Manager). There are many problems that have been stated in the letter from the sports centre. The first problem is the fact that the sports centre has difficulties managing all of the member's details. As there are a lot of members it is difficult to find the information based on the member quickly. It is also difficult to find groups of members and they need to change and check the age of the members (18 and over is an adult). Another problem is that when a member arrives the sports centre need to find and make the membership valid as they are "on site .The best piece of software to use to solve these problems are databases, in this case Microsoft Access. * Validation aims to make sure that data is sensible, reasonable and allowable. It does not check that it is correct. * A Key Field or Primary Key is a field within a database which enables every record to be uniquely identified. * Verification is used to verify that data has been entered into the computer matches the original source data. It does not check that the data is accurate. One way of verification is typing data into the computer twice. The computer automatically compares the two versions and tells the user if they're not the same. When network users change their password, they have to type in the new password twice

Planning a spreadsheet database for a gun shop.

Name: Haseeb Ali Choudary Candidate number: 3038 Center number: 11043 GCSE ICT spreadsheet coursework IDENTIFY Identifying the problem: My sister Lisa is the new manager of a small independent Gun shop located in Brighton, which is called BOOMtings it has been running for 10 years now and is a thriving business as any other shop in the market. This shop sells the latest guns at reasonable prices. BOOMtings have an acceptable amount of customers and the shop is earning a reasonable amount of money. Problem: The current system is manual and makes life difficult for my sister so I will be trying to fix it. As my Sister hired me to help out with the accounts, I have found some problems which are: finding the calculations of how many Guns they have, how many they sell over a period of time and the amount of profit or loss that was made weekly or monthly This problem is caused because my sister Lisa is completely unorganised and is always losing important files and scraps of paper, which means she has no idea of what is going on with the company's financial situation. Suggestions: As I am very advanced in software designing and accountancy, I am the best man for the job. I would say the best way to solve this problem is to get a laptop for my sister Lisa, so that we can get Microsoft excel or Microsoft access. I thought it would be a good idea to produce a spreadsheet

Evaluation, Application & Effects

Evaluation, Application and Effects . Compare using ICT to create your system rather than creating it by hand. Using ICT makes producing the presentation much easier. This is mainly because you can change, edit and move things at a touch of a button without having to completely redo the piece of work. You can add colour and special effects using specialist programmes, making it look unique to other presentations. Also if you did it by hand, if you made a mistake, you would need to cross it out which would make the look less impressive and professional, but using a computer you can easily correct it and it will still look perfect. Also if you want to reproduce a leaflet it would be extremely time consuming whilst on a computer, it would be simple. When producing a leaflet by hand, I would probably use a template to make straight bigger letters, and write all the information by hand with a medium-sized pen. For the photographs, I would print them immediately from the computer, onto photographic paper and then cut the pictures out. I would then glue the photos onto the paper in suitable place. This could then be photocopied to be reproduced, in either colour or black & white, and these could then be made available in the Health Centre. 2. Justify your use of ICT to create your system for the Health Centre. Using ICT makes producing the presentation much easier. It is
