Database Hajj&Umrah travel agency

DATABASE PROJECT ANALYSIS Identification THE PROBLEM In the past few weeks there have been a few complications and problems with the database in the Hajj & Umrah travel agency called Elkadi Tours. This is the problem that the manager at the agency in Central London has approached me with. These agency chains have been running for roughly fifteen years and this particular agency has been running for ten years, with hardly any complaints. The manager, Mr. Osman Yusuf has suggested that I make a database, which could hold all of the various parts of the information needed for everyday applications for various visas and tickets. There have been various problems concerning ticket and visa application. This is what I am here to try and sort out. The problem is becoming quite serious now and the respectable agency chain is starting to lose business because of the businesses faults. At the moment, the chain is using a filing cabinet, which is not a very good idea because people cannot read each other's writing and then the staff are trying to book tickets when that particular airline is fully booked or visas have been re-applied for this is becoming time-consuming for the respective company. This cannot keep going on as complaints have been now encountered. Another problem is that the file paper is easy to lose and the booking sheets often become dirty and then illegible.

Spreadsheet. This coursework is based on the work of a spreadsheet, which is designed for a computer shop, called CNE computers.

TASK A: Spreadsheet coursework page 1 This coursework is to design a spreadsheet that will help a Company in their organisation of their files and information. I, a student in year 10 will have to produce a spreadsheet that is complex enough to meet the requirements of a specific organisation and as simple to use that any member of staff will be able to use it. A: Description of Problem This coursework is based on the work of a spreadsheet, which is designed for a computer shop, called CNE computers. I have chosen a family business, whereby my father owns the shop. It is located on a busy street in the heart of Harrow. It concentrates mainly on selling and repairing computers and general electronics. The manager seems to have a problem with dealing with all the paperwork of his customers. The system that he is using is very complicated; it causes him a lot of trouble, as it is very problematic. He currently uses a manual system, whereby all his invoices, accounts and finance calculations are taken out. This method is slow, hard and tiresome. When working out his finances, such as his profits, VAT calculations, he must write down and calculate them using a pen, paper and a calculator. This is an unreliable method, for human errors are inevitable. For example, if he was to make a mistake in the working out, the chances are that he would not notice until the end,

Spreadsheet Technical Report - Teacher Grade book. My task was to produce a grade book for primary school teachers; the aim of this spreadsheet was to allow teachers to input scores and record student progress. In this report I will attempt to explain the processes I went through to produce the grade book. Step 1 In order to create a professional, user friendly grade book, I firstly wrote a list of the items I wanted to include in my spreadsheet using Microsoft Word, before I started creating it. I did this so that I could make sure I had included all the functions required, as I changed their colour from red to black once I had completed that function. Step 2 Once I had completed this, I wrote down what functions/data each individual page would contain, and the order each worksheet should go in, in Microsoft Word. I did this because it allowed me to have a chance to analyse the amount of information and functions which were needed on each worksheet. It also have me the ability to understand the order in which my worksheets should follow, for example, if I had put the maths report after the english worksheet instead of the maths one, then it would not have run in a logical sequence of events, and would have most likely confused the user (the teacher.) I did the worksheet layout before creating my spreadsheet, as if I had not prepared and gave a structure to my

Spreadsheet for a basketball company

MS Excel Project . Identify .1. Introduction 'RoSup' is a company that organises basketball matches. It has one basketball court, which is situated in Surrey and has been operating for nearly a year. They are struggling because the methods they are using appear to be very inapt. I have been requested to undertake the problem with an attempt to introduce an easier but effective scheme, by Mrs Suprabha, the manager. .2. The Real User The actual problem is the method they are using to book seats, gather, and enter information such as customer information. They are using a paper-based system and so the process is very slow as information is slightly different every match. The employees have to keep drawing a new booking system for every match. They would have to keep counting stocks left. The other problems caused from this manual system are that the documents get lost, damaged, can prove to be very difficult in altering, mistakes due to illegible handwriting and forgetting to add or delete data. These files also take up a lot room, as they require being stored in file cabinets and finding certain data will be very much time consuming. Categorising data in lists would be a great burden. As a result, of all these drawbacks from the current scheme, the manager wants a solution that will speed up the process, which would ultimately allow them to focus on other business aspects

Appendix 1 Appendix 1 shows the form in design view; you can manually design your form by going on create form in design view. Appendix 2 Appendix 2 shows that I am going to auto format my form so that the style looks different and it looks more professional Appendix 3 Appendix 3 shows the auto format wizard of the form this lets me decide what format and style I want the form to be like this will make the form look more attractive and therefore would be more appealing to the user Appendix 4 This is how my form looked in design view when I finished the auto format. Appendix 5 Appendix 5 shows that I added a title by first adding a textbox and then writing in the appropriate title, and then I changed the font and the style of writing. Appendix 6 Appendix 6 shows that I inserted the pictures either side of my title to make the form stand out and look more colourful. Chapter 1: Identification The Aim of the Project A The aim of my project is to make the task of the allocation of seats in a theatre in a much more efficient manner than writing down on a piece of paper, which will allow calculations to be taken to show the overall costs against profit for the whole show. This will also allow the spreadsheet to also take into account the fixed costs of show, the projected profits from program sales, confectionery sales and other miscellaneous costs and profits from the show and quickly and efficiently calculate them. Background A Mr Brown, owner of Brown Theatres puts shows on fairly frequently, so he requires a simple solution, that is quick and easy to adapt to and simple to understand. The problems faced by him is that the current solution is to write down all the information by hand and use a calculator to work out costs, expenses and profit. He wants the solution to be able to do all this in and instant, and in a simple, understandable format. Mr Brown also believes that this new system will allow his company to expand, and become more profitable, he believes that this new, efficient way of calculating will allow him to accurately calculate everything he needs in a matter of seconds. Alternative strategies for solving the problem A/B Non-ICT solution The non-ICT solution would be similar to one Mr Brown uses at the moment, that

The growth of the computer industry in business

INTRODUCTION Offices are essentially information processing and transformation systems, and so almost all of the features that a computer offers - large memory capacities, fast processing, accurate computation, formalised decision processing - are employed nearly every day in controlling and running offices. Information about clients, stock, meetings, decisions, etc., constantly has to be recorded and retrieved; financial balances about the organisation itself or small aspects of it need to be computed and presented quickly; modern decisions are often so complex, with the alternatives so finely balanced, that decision aids are often required. For all of these tasks, and many more, computers offer invaluable help - primarily because of their large and infallible memory. Although Information Technology (IT) is becoming increasingly common within the workplace, and making its presence felt at numerous work places, few people make use of the new technology. The Personal Computer is also fast penetrating the domestic market, opening up new possibilities for those who perhaps had not previously considered the benefits of using IT beyond calculating their pay. The computer we see today is quite different from the one made in the beginning. The number of applications of a computer has increased, the speed and accuracy of calculation has increased. You must appreciate the impact of
